During my singing lessons we’ll focus on your vocal technique to increase your vocal range, build vocal strength and stamina, improve your breathing and gain control over your instrument . We’ll work on multiple musical and vocal styles, sing high and low notes with ease, and most importantly, we’ll focus on finding your own voice while having fun doing it.

All you need for these lessons is passion for singing and a song of your choice. During the first lesson we’ll discuss your goals and wishes and have a little try at a few vocal exercises. Next, we’ll work on the song of your choice with the focus on the things you’d like to improve. After the lesson you’ll receive a little summary of your strengths, focus points and a plan with how we’ll work to achieve your goals. There will always be a small homework or exercise you’ll need to work on at home to help you achieve what we planned.

All levels are welcome, from beginners to advanced!

About Me

I’m Dominika – a singer, musician and vocal coach. I began my journey with music a long time ago in Poland, when I was still a child. Then, after moving to The Netherlands 10 years ago I got accepted to study jazz singing at The Royal Conservatory of Den Hague and since then I’ve been professionally working within the music industry. I’ve been teaching at several music schools in The Netherlands in Dutch, Polish and English, and been expanding my knowledge by following singing courses and training. Besides doing music, I’m a co-founder of an English speaking musical theater company in Amsterdam, Happily Ever After Productions, where I combine my passion for theater, acting, dancing and music while working as a performer, music and artistic director.

My passion for teaching singing sprang up after my vocal injury a few years back. It forced me to fully examine my vocal technique and habits. I had to relearn everything I knew about singing to make sure I could use my voice for many years to come. It was an amazing experience that opened my eyes on all the vocal issues we face as students, singers and music lovers. This led me to create my own teaching practise and help others learn to use their voice in the best way possible. If you have vocal problems, I most definitely experienced them myself as well: loss of high/low notes, breathy sound, tension, strained voice, hoarseness after singing, lack of support, closed throat and many more – we can work on it all and I know it’s possible because I did it too!

Music Theory Lessons - Learn to understand the language of music!

Learn to understand the language of music!

We’ll work on the most important aspects of music theory and ear training which includes:

solfegio (sight-reading),
interval hearing and singing,
scales knowledge
note reading.

Singing “false” or otherwise, out of tune, is not only a matter of a vocal technique but very much your ability to hear, recognise and recreate tones and sounds.

By working on ear training you’ll improve your intonation and hearing abilities. All these are needed to sing in tune, improvise melodies, sing runs and riffs and harmonise melodies (create second voice) with ease.

Sight-reading will help you sing from notes which can prove helpful and useful when singing in a choir or working on a musical project where music sheets are in use.

Scales will help you in expanding your musicality and singing notes you would otherwise not find in the basic ABC of melodies. They open your ears to new sounds and unlock musical possibilities. They are helpful when wanting to create songs, interesting melodies and chords.

All these skills are compulsory for anyone wishing to enter higher music education. These lessons will prepare you for passing your theory exams as well as help you to become more understanding of musical rules.

From my studio at the Berlagebrug, I give Piano lessons to beginners and (semi) advanced students. The lessons take place on a Yamaha wing and when a piece is well under control, we can make a professional recording of it.

I graduated in 1992 as a musician from the Hilversum Conservatory (nowadays Conservatory of Amsterdam) in the direction of light music, or jazz and pop. So with me, you learn not only to read notes but also chord schemes and - if you want - improvisation. Or we search together for a song that you would like to play and make a nice adaptation of it. Together we first look at exactly what you want to learn and align the curriculum.

I can also help you learn how to compose and produce. I work with Pro Tools and Logic Pro X.

For classical Piano lessons, I would rather refer you to someone else.

My name is Ben (26), and I'm a certified drum teacher with about 15 years of experience behind the kit. Previously I have studied jazz drums at Kunstuniversitat of Graz. Currently I'm teaching at multiple institutions in Amsterdam such as: Lucky Beat Music Club, United Pop, British School of Amsterdam.

I have been singing all my life and I have many different experiences with receiving and giving singing lessons. If you want to become better in singing technique, performing and / or songwriting, I can help you with that.

I give private lessons to give you as a vocalist more knowledge about the profession, so that you feel comfortable singing and can get more out of your own voice. We choose some songs to practice with or can work on our own songs.
During the singing I analyze what happens and give this back to you so that we can work on the skills that you would like to improve!

Learning to play the guitar can be an amazing experience at every stage of the process! My ultimate goal is to help my students to develop their skills and musical understanding by learning and playing music that they like.

Hello,

My name is Jaime and I am a Spanish clarinet player, composer, and teacher.
With over years of experience playing the clarinet and having immersed myself in teaching for the last few years,
I am currently completing my professional studies in clarinet and composition at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam
with professors Arno Piters (Royal Concertgebouw Orkest) and Hans Colbert (Residentie Orkest Den Haag).

I see teaching not only as a way to pass on my (still growing) knowledge but also as a way to learn along with my students in a cheerful and inspiring way.
During our classes, we will learn the basics of clarinet playing, as well as how to use these basics to build your own way of playing and learn simple songs, intermediate pieces, or world-class concertos!

You'll learn how to use the voice in the proper way, starting by your natural speech and developing it to find your own sound. I have experience in both Pop and Jazz styles (a Bachelor in Jazz Singing and a degree in Jazz Composition), so it's possible to study songs from both this repertoires. I also give Music Theory Lessons, to make the student develop his/her own style and musical sensibility and, in the case of Jazz, to know how to improvise on different chord changes and jazz styles.

Technology as the basis for fun!

In my singing lessons, the voice is of course central, but the voice is part of a larger whole, the body.
In order to make the voice sound optimal, special attention is therefore required for posture and breathing. Many important exercises are therefore aimed at this.
But besides technique, imagination, fantasy and vocal expression are also essential parts that I work with during my singing lessons.
The aim is to discover their own sound sources together with the students and to develop everyone's vocal possibilities as far as possible.
Breathing technique, energy balance, and of course especially fun in singing are central.

I have been studying opera and classical singing since the age of 12, as well as jazz, choral, and musical theater singing. I have been performing in musicals since 2015.
These studies have given me a wealth of tools to adapt to what each student needs and wants, because the most important thing is that we never stop enjoying music.

My classes are based on three core principles. The first is having a clear method, rooted in the real functioning of the voice—its physiology (what science tells us about how we use the body to sing)—and applicable to anyone, step by step, with logic. I always prioritize the student’s vocal health and rely on scientifically proven methods. I use simple language, without unnecessary technicalities, so everything is easy to understand and makes sense.

The second is the emotional and psychological aspect. For me, connecting with the person in front of me is essential—understanding how they think, how they perceive themselves, what blocks them, and what motivates them. This way, I can adapt the classes to their personality and goals. I try to create a relaxed environment based on respect, trust, and a little humor, where everyone feels free and comfortable. We aren’t all born with the voice we wish we had, but we can all develop what we do have—and on that journey, singing becomes a way to know and accept yourself better.

And the third is the dedication and professionalism with which I approach this work, which I am truly passionate about.

All classes are divided into a warm-up and vocalization section, followed by work on a chosen piece suited to the student’s level and preferred style. Regardless of style or level, a foundation in classical singing will always be established.

Hi! I’m Emily, a classically trained singer from Hong Kong, currently in my fourth year of the Bachelor’s programme in Voice at the Utrecht Conservatorium. With 8 years of vocal training and a strong love for performing, I’m passionate about helping others experience the joy of music.

I’ve been teaching for over 4 years, working with students from age 4 to adults, both individually and in small group settings. I also teach music classes for children at an international school, and I specialize in creating engaging, age-appropriate lessons that build both skill and confidence.

In addition to classical singing, I also teach Musical Theatre — combining healthy vocal technique with expressive performance — and piano at beginner to intermediate levels. I hold an ATCL Diploma in Singing from Trinity College London and ABRSM Piano Grade 8, and I’ve helped students succeed in ABRSM and Trinity exams, often with Merit or Distinction.

Hello! I’m Leticia, a professional soprano from Cuba, now living in Amsterdam. I’ve spent years teaching at the National Conservatory of Music in Cuba, performing as a soloist, with choirs, and in ensembles of various formats, sharing stages nationally and internationally. I’ve just arrived in Amsterdam and I’ve recently started learning Dutch and I am getting more confident in English.
