Beginner course to learn to play classical piano

In this course, I will teach you the first steps to start playing classical piano.
We will begin to do some hand placement exercises, scales, arpeggios and different exercises and then begin to play simple works, which will become more complicated over time.

The duration of the classes in principle is 1 hour. If you would like less or more time, we can manage it.

In principle the classes are taught in my studio, but everything could be discussed. Depending on the area I could move.

The desire to learn! And... a notebook of staves. For now, nothing else. When you start classes, I will tell you which book to buy!

About Me

Hello! My name is Kenya, I am 21 years old and I come from Vitoria-Gasteiz, but three years ago I moved to Barcelona to continue my musical studies.

I started playing classical piano when I was 7 years old and at 14 I also combined it with jazz piano until I moved to Barcelona in 2020 to continue my jazz piano studies.

Currently, I am at the Liceu studying the last years of modern music and jazz.
In addition I have finished this year the music and sound production university for the entertainment industry.

As the head teacher at Esclat Barcelona Music School and Viaró Global School, I'm currently conducting research in the biomechanics of violin playing, and I'm set to publish four books on this subject this year!

A young and enthusiastic tutor who has more than 15 years of experience in musical performance, who is constantly developing her skills and learning new instruments (currently, violin and guitar :).
I come from Ukraine and have a diploma from a completed 8-year piano, music theory and choir degree from Russian and Ukrainian musical academies. I am very proud of the educational background I have since my teachers had always been very strict yet fair with their ways of teaching, which gave me a strong base as a musician, and, later on, as a tutor. Moreover, I have studied psychology here in Spain for 3 years at a university, so I get on well with many different personalities and know how to approach stressful situations.
I must mention that I am passionate about spending my time with kids and sharing the skills and experience I have with people.

I speak Spanish, but offer classes in English, so my students can also practice their English while in the class. Of course, if the student prefers to keep it in Spanish, it is not a problem for me.

I am happy to help beginners with meeting piano for the first time, as well as tutoring students with some experience to help them with practising at home, pointing out the most crucial areas of improvement in order to reach the best result possible. Pierpaolo is a guitarist and composer born in 1995 from central Italy (Le Marche, Recanati). At the age of 12 he picked up a classical guitar for the first time (which he still owns) and since then he has not stopped playing, practicing and inventing with it. He currently lives in Barcelona (Spain) where he mainly teaches rock, jazz and flamenco. In fact, his studies range from jazz (he has 2 degrees in jazz guitar) to flamenco. In Barcelona Pierpaolo attends the ESMUC conservatory. "I am Pierpaolo, a professional guitarist with a Bachelor and Master's degree in Jazz Guitar (110 cum laude) and with experience studying other styles such as blues, rock, pop, funk, latin, fusion, flamenco. I have 10 years of experience as a teacher and have played at many festivals and events as a guitarist, in ensembles ranging from solo guitar to orchestra and big band. My passion for music always makes me have fun in classes with my guitar students. I also have experience in the recording studio as an author, composer, arranger, producer and collaborator."

Obviously you'll learn to play and read music. But you can learn that at any school; all teachers teach it, it's fundamental. The question is how it's taught and whether the student leaves the class with a smile or not... and with the concept understood.
Music requires discipline and consistency, so it's important to attend and practice even when you don't feel like it. But even on off days, I've managed to teach without hitting a single note, because playing the drums isn't just about hitting them (even though it is fun).

I am an experienced guitar teacher with seven years of teaching experience in both public and private schools. During the pandemic, I also started teaching online, and I have continued offering online lessons ever since.
