About Me

From the first class I will be very clear in our goals and objectives in the long run. I believe that every student of mine has to be treated with a thouroughful approach on every class.

- Master's degree in performance of classical and contemporary music at FHNW Basel Hochschule fur Musik
- Bachelor's degree in classic and contemporary music at Liceu Conservatoire (Barcelona)

Experience / Qualifications

International concert artist with an extended chamber and individual career. He has been able to play as a soloist with the Real Filharmonía de Galicia and the Liceu band, thanks to his award at the Extraordinary Chamber Music prize at the Liceu Conservatory.

It is also worth highlighting his participation in the IX Vitor Santos Competition where he was awarded twice, since he obtained first prize in the chamber category with the Mezzo Quartet and also in the Senior category individually. He has also recently been awarded second prize in the Madridejos-Sax international competition, first prize in the 27th Mirabent i Magrans competition and second prize in the 106th Juventudes Musicales competition. He has been involved in festivals in different parts of the world, including his participation in the Cali International Saxophone Festival (Colombia) and the Palmela International Saxophone Festival (Portugal).

He currently lives in Basel where he is receiving classes from maestro Marcus Weiss at the Hochschule für Musik Basel. The HMB is a space from which great musician have originated their careers and has international prestige for its teaching staff and its open vision of newly created music.

As scientists admit, music improves language skills, logical thinking, concentration, and has therapeutical effect on us. For me, playing the violin has proved to be that and much more. It has been connecting all the elements of my life - work, dreams of travelling around the world, my social life, my family. They say it is one of the most difficult instruments, but the truth is, it is difficult only if you make it difficult. My aim is to make my students fascinated by it any time they take it in their hands. In my work I concentrate on the needs and interests of the student and work on technique, music knowledge and joy in playing through games, special excercises and my own 27 years of experience in playing the violin.

I am a qualified CELTA Teacher with an MA(Hons) in English Literature. I have over a decade experience teaching English language and literature, IELTS, PET,CAE etc.

I also specialise in Business English for corporate and executive clients.

I come from a beautiful fjord in Norway called Ryfylke and recently moved to Dreiländereck in Ötlingen, a village overlooking the vineyards.

My teaching experience ranges from beginners to advanced. I am a dedicated, passionate teacher who loves to pass on my knowledge of music. I believe the essence of teaching is to encourage the artist within to focus on expression and experience the connection to oneself.

Music for me is all about connecting to your own feelings and inner world, and finding a way to share this with other artists and listeners. I teach violin with the help of imagination as well as great methods. I focus on the joy of discipline and focus rather then being rigid. I guide you to discover yourself, your inner voice that constitutes the artist you are.

Optional focus and guidance - I have experience in trauma healing and addressing blockages that hinder joyful playing. I encourage students to explore their true self as an artist. This approach not only facilitates learning an instrument and understanding music but also helps individuals find their unique voice in life, leading to immense joy!

I'm active in many different genres myself, which is why I can teach a wide variety of things on the cello :) It's important to me to create a learning atmosphere where both student and teacher feel comfortable. Student and teacher should meet as equals, as learning is most effective in a trusting environment.

Where do I come from musically?

It has always been important to me to explore all the possibilities my instrument offers. And to be honest, I'm not finished yet; the cello has so many facets to discover! I've already tried many different styles. I completed my Master's degree in Contemporary Music at the Basel Academy of Music in 2025. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Artistic Pedagogy in Freiburg. This gives me a solid foundation for teaching the instrument in a playful way and for unlocking the creativity of my students.

Can you also find me on stage?

Yes, mostly with my jazzy indie-pop band "Partiprivati". We write our own songs and I'm usually responsible for a good bassline :)

But also with Percaso String Quartet, with whom we only play string quartet works by women.

Or in Ensemble IPSO, a music theater project in which we try to blend the boundaries between music, theater and dance.

And always with solo performances at vernissages.
