Having worked as a teaching assistant and a tutor I specialise in tutoring maths and english for 4 - 19 year olds. I specialise in assisting in homework and helping students to advance in their class, rather than learning from scratch. I have helped students prepare for the 11 plus exams, GCSEs, A Levels, and Oxford / Cambridge entry interviews.

I have a BA Hons in English from Cambridge University, an MSc in Social Science and Public Policy from King's College London, and have worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Basel for the past year. I also have A* English, A* Maths, A Art, and A French at A Level.

My name is Valentin and I have a master's degree in Physics from ENS Lyon. In 2017 I became the youngest medalist at the International Physics Olympiad. Currently I am doing my doctoral studies in Basel. My scientific approach favors above all the in-depth understanding of concepts rather than the simple learning of the laws of physics by heart. I have experience solving very complex problems in physics and mathematics, where just knowing the formulas is not enough. It is by grasping the deeper meaning of these formulas that we can effectively apply them in a broader context and thus facilitate the search for solutions.

I start by doing a short assessment of the student's level, followed by identifying their main difficulties in the subject.
