Piano and electric bass lessons in the middle of Bern (Aarbergergasse)
From 103.39 £ /h
My focus is on the styles of rock/pop/jazz and improvisation. I would also be happy to delve into music theory and show you the basics (and beyond...) of harmony.
If you're not a grader, it doesn't matter! My first piano lessons were very note based and almost ruined my playing! I'm a firm believer that playing songs by ear from the start helps us absorb songs faster. Of course, the eyes also work and shape patterns, figures and tone sequences on the fretboard or. on the keyboard. Of course, I would also be happy to teach you how to read music.

About Me
At the age of 6 I started playing the first Beatles tunes on my mother's shabby mini keyboard. During junior high I spent time playing jembe and learned my first jazz standard on the piano (must have been Autumn Leaves...). My teacher at the time, Nisu, taught me not only improvisation but also juggling (how cool is that...).
One day my brother brought home an electric bass guitar: Since there was no bassist in my later formed rock band, I took over this position (and my brother's bass...). A little later I attended the PreCollege at the Bern Jazz School (piano was still my main subject at the time) and barely lasted half a year. I wanted to make music, tour and write songs and not mess with sheet music. (I'll catch up on that today, about 10 years later...)
During my vocational baccalaureate I got to know my band and family from The Souls, moved to Thun and founded the legendary Band-WG im Bälliz. That was the beginning of a story that would change my life like nothing else on this globe….
13 years later we can look back on over 400 concerts at home and abroad. From the stinky pub with 3 drunk Englishmen to the sold-out Hallenstadion, there was something of everything. We were allowed to perform at the largest, medium-sized and very small festivals in Switzerland, toured through countries like England, Ukraine, Singapore, America and our neighboring countries and were allowed to work with many renowned producers all over the world.
From 2019 to 2022 I completed my bachelor's degree at the WIAM (Winterthur Institute for Contemporary Music) and have been playing in various jazz, funk and experimental projects ever since. My musical horizon has expanded and my interest in theoretical music topics is constantly growing. I now teach electric bass, piano and harmony in the old town of Bern and am on the road as a session musician (live and studio) and as a band coach. Follow me on social media to get a little insight into my current life or simply write to me via the contact form.
In addition to music, I like to go hiking or treat myself to a cool drink with my friends in one of my favorite pubs in Bern. Sporadically practice yoga, play chess or table tennis.
