I am very proud to be a keeper of the Russian Music School tradition, and also very proud of my musical and teaching legacy - my teachers’ line can be traced back to Beethoven himself!
I have vast experience in teaching classical piano to people of all levels, ages and backgrounds. In case you just don’t know where to start or want to get to know the basics of playing - I possess a very unique teaching method for beginners based on my teachers’ research and enhanced by my own experience (over 10 years), which allows you to get to know the piano and see how you’re feeling about it. If you are rather advanced and looking for expanding your knowledge - I’m ready to back you up with not just useful tips, but some history and more profound understanding of where the composer you’ve chosen (and maybe even this particular work you’re interested in) came from. My approach is very individual and well-rounded, so if you really want to explore what it is all about and how it works and have passion for that - so do I!
Extra information
I provide my own materials to the beginners; however, if you have something to play as a part of your introduction or you used to self-teach or be taught using some book - that would very helpful for me to hear/see it!

About Me
Being a teacher has always been my dream, so I am truly in my element when doing that. I keep my skills sharp by practising the piano myself (there is always room for improvement in art!), which also serves me as a source of inspiration. Getting to know more music material also allows me to increase my competence. Overall I spent 17 years learning everything I’ve learnt since the age of 7, which did not only include piano classes, but theory and history of music and a myriad of other music-related disciplines, even methodology and basic psychology! But, as you can probably imagine, even though the educational system I went through was quite tough, I believe that there should always be a room for a joke, and more relaxed environment helps to make the process more efficient and enjoyable at the same time, and I enjoy it more this way as well.
Education
I graduated famous Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatoire in 2019. Before then I went to Academic Music College, which is also a part of the MSC educational system.
Experience / Qualifications
My qualifications include a few things, such as Piano Performer, Piano Teacher and Chamber Ensemble Artist. I spent a number of years performing before concentrating entirely on teaching.

Emily
Hello! My name is Emily and I’m a professional singer and a passionate and experienced singing and piano teacher with 15 years of teaching experience to students of all ages and abilities.

As a teacher, my main goal is to make your lessons fun, rewarding and enjoyable (as music making should be!) whilst supporting and encouraging you every step of the way in your development.

I am dedicated to ensuring that online music lessons are as effective and engaging as in-person lessons; please don’t hesitate to get in touch to discuss options further!

In your singing lessons, we will work on building your technique and musicality, your repertoire in multiple genres as well as your confidence as a performer. I teach a solid classical based technique which can then be applied to multiple genres of music. As an accomplished pianist I will accompany you at the piano as you sing your chosen songs. (For online lessons I will find suitable backing tracks.)

In your piano lessons, for beginners - I will determine the appropriate starting materials based on your age, innate ability, and level of understanding. For those who have already been learning and are looking to resume their studies, I will facilitate a seamless and supportive transition. I will work closely with you to gain a thorough understanding of your needs and ensure the most effective path forward.

If you are interested in having both singing and piano lessons, you can have an hour lesson comprising of half singing and half piano.

I have over 10 years of experience in preparing students for exam grades, and work with the ABRSM syllabus and the Trinity syllabus. My students have a 100% pass rate, with the majority achieving a Merit or Distinction.

I look forward to hearing from you and making music with you!

Marat
My name is Marat and I am a London-based pianist, musicologist and composer with more than 20 years of experience. I am also a dedicated and experienced piano, composition, music theory and music technology tutor offering excellent and in-depth tuition for any age or ability. I have been teaching extensively in schools and privately, and giving lectures at universities. I would be happy to share my passion and enthusiasm for music with you!

My musical path started at Moscow Jurgenson Music School in Russia at the age of 7 where I took my first piano and music theory lessons. After 8 years of full-time studying I graduated with distinction. In 2015, I graduated from Goldsmiths, University of London specialising in classical and contemporary performance (under Andrew Zolinsky) and music education. Recently, I have completed my masters programme at Goldsmiths, University of London specialising in contemporary musicology (under Keith Potter) and music management.

Since 2012, I have been performing and premiering contemporary classical music solo or with ensembles at various venues and events, including IKLECTIK, Arebyte Gallery, Sound Festival, Southbank Centre, Cheltenham Music Festival and Teatro Baltazar Dias (Madeira, Portugal). I am a core member of the New Maker Ensemble, a group dedicated to experimenting with various art forms of new music and performance art. I regularly write articles and album reviews about new music. I have given lectures and presentations on new music at various conferences and events, including the Gnesin Contemporary Music Week 2020, 2021 and 2022, the Gnesin Academy and ZIL Culture Centre. And I even have my own podcast about new music.

Tuition is open for both online and in-person classes. All ages and abilities welcome: from age 5 to adult learners, beginner to advanced. I teach from my flat in Surrey Quays, but can also travel to my students, in which case a travel fee will be added to the standard rates. I currently offer:

Sean
Hey! My name is Seán, and I am an Irish singer-songwriter based in London with 2 years of teaching experience. I teach a range of disciplines, including piano, guitar, vocals, songwriting, and music theory. Having taught students of all ages and different levels of musicianship, I am pleased to say that I have built long-lasting relationships with many of my students. With an emphasis on creativity and student input; my lessons allow students to discover their own playing style and musical direction.

I strongly believe that people learn best when they enjoy what they’re doing, and I incorporate this into my teaching style. I strongly encourage my students to bring their own ideas and suggestions to the lessons; that way they can learn a piece of music that they really like. With a background in classical music, I underpin my lessons with useful technical exercises that encourage dexterity, time-keeping and fluency. Finally, I encourage all my students to learn at least the fundamentals of music theory and sight reading. Striking a healthy balance between diligent exercises, music theory and fun musical expression, my lessons allow students to explore their musicality on all fronts.

Whether you’re a complete beginner, or you’re building upon your existing skills, I am here to help you reach your musical goals. Lessons are available immediately, looking forward to hearing from you!

Qualifications:
- Grade 8 Classical Piano - Royal Irish Academy of Music
- Piano, Vocal, and Guitar Training
- MA in Music Production, LCCM
- Decade of Songwriting Experience
- Frontman for Seán and the Late Bloomers
