I specialise in teaching English for school, including both SAT and GCSE. I am also Cambridge CELTA qualified to teach English as a second language to all levels focusing on speaking, listening, writing and reading. My goal is to focus on the students needs and weakness while encouraging their strengths. They will be challenged to perform to their best ability while also keeping it fun so it does not get too overwhelming. I assign homework after every lesson and provide periodic progress reports.

About Me

My passion is teaching and being an English teacher, I am a graduate with a degree in English Literature with the dream of teaching in mind. I am very outgoing and enjoy preparing very effective lesson plans for my students. I have passed the Cambridge CELTA course and follow their lesson plans. I have tutored students in the past for GCSE English preparations. I also currently study Japanese and have studied Chinese at university. My lessons will cater to my students needs and strengthen their weakness and will perform and learn the necessary skills required. In my lessons i ensure that my students are comfortable with what they are learning and know how to approach different possible questions. I have worked in a Children's day care and have taught students 18+ therefore I can teach any age and any level. My lessons will overall, allow the student to feel more comfortable in answering future exam questions and effectively progress their knowledge.

English Literature is an extremely important and, for many students, compulsory part of education. This class is about improving the skills needed for close, thematic reading of both old and more contemporary texts. Using overarching themes found across literature, as well as giving suggestions for other relevant texts, this class aims not only to help pass any exams, but to also enrich your understanding and appreciation of the subject.

Outside of exams, especially for any adults, this class can be a more freeform discussion of novels or poetry for anyone who wants to enjoy literature on a deeper level but isn't quite sure where to start or what avenues of thought to explore.

GCSEs are surprisingly easy once you understand what you need to do. In this class, I can teach English Literature, Language, Maths and Further Maths at GCSE level.

For English, we will go over exactly what the mark scheme needs of them, learn close reading / critical thinking skills, write essays with structures that will help them beyond Undergraduate level, and create a long term revision plan which will see them achieve their goals.
