About Me

Hello and welcome!

I'm an engineering research student based in London, passionate about improving my coding skills and sharing knowledge. Like many students, I’ve faced challenges across various subjects and had to adapt my study methods to find what works best for me. Along the way, I discovered that explaining complex topics to my friends or collaborating with my team helped me gain a deeper understanding of how to communicate effectively, especially when the audience is unfamiliar with the subject.

In my teaching, I strive to simplify complex concepts by breaking them down into relatable stories or bite-sized pieces of information, always backed by plenty of practical examples. I believe learning should be about understanding, not memorization. Concepts should be meaningful and applicable, not something to be forgotten after the test. My approach adapts to different learning styles, but if you’re the type of person who constantly asks, “But why?” — I think we’ll work particularly well together!

I am a graduate from Queen Mary University of London with a first class degree with honours in Mathematics and Actuarial Sciences.

Mathematics is an essential subject studied by all students from prep school to GCSE class. Having adequate Maths knowledge also helps students understand science subjects such as Physics and Chemistry. Studying Maths has always been fun for me since I love finding the most efficient way to solve problems. I understand that not all students feel this way and that is why I am here to teach students not only the fundamental methods to solve Maths problems but also how closely related Maths is to our real world.

In my lessons, I will use Key Stage, AQA, and GCE Maths books with sample papers to explain the content thoroughly to my students. I will also offer class notes written by myself specifically for my students to help them grasp the knowledge in a clear layout.

Having completed both my GCSE and A-level studies in the UK, I have firsthand experience of studying and taking these exams and hope to deliver my tips to my students. I am fluent in English although my native language is Mandarin Chinese. Finally, as an older sibling, I have experience assisting my sister the whole way through her GCSE exams. I believe I am patient and eloquent when teaching younger students. I look forward to getting to know my students and helping them ace their upcoming exams.
