I am a very well qualified maths teacher, with a first class degree in Mathematics (University of Birmingham) and a Masters in Teaching Studies. I have been teaching maths in UK schools for the past five years and am very familiar with all aspects of the A Level syllabus. I am a very patient teacher who explains mathematics topics clearly and am very confident in breaking down difficult concepts to make them easier to understand.

In general in a course I answer the question of the student then help him to do exercises of his resources; unless he asks me to find some!
And there may also be things to correct at home to save time.

During these sessions we will start to understand the concept of both maths and science in further detail while working on our exam technique. These sessions are also a chance for students to bring their problems!

I run my lessons in 4 steps. Step 1 (content knowledge): I get to know how much the student already knows about the topic. Depending on their level of understanding I will go over crucial subject content and make sure to cover any knowledge gaps. Step 2: I go over practice questions with the student and give them tips on how to tackle the questions and how to answer effectively in order to obtain full marks. Step 3: I give students past paper questions to independently try them. I then mark them and go over any questions they got wrong. I then give them more questions that are similar to the questions they got wrong. Step 4: I quiz the students to make sure there’s no knowledge gap in the specific topic before moving on to a next topic.

My aim is to teach students just like the way I like to be taught. Making sure the environment is friendly so that the students can freely ask questions without being intimidated. I am very passionate about making sure that my teaching helps as many students as possible so that they can achieve the top grades.

I have previously taught 11+ students in a private tuition. Although I don’t have a broad work experience in teaching but being the eldest daughter I have always taught my younger siblings who both go to a grammar school. I have always helped my friends and classmates in school as well. I have always been a top achiever. I am also a medical applicant with a medical school offer. I can assure you that I will teach my students with complete hard work and dedication.

I care more about a student knowing why a method works than memorising the steps, because understanding is what survives exam pressure when a question is worded unfamiliarly. Lessons are structured but relaxed. Students should feel comfortable asking the questions they think are silly, because those are usually the ones that matter most.

I'm patient with mistakes and honest about what still needs work. If a student isn't ready for a topic, I'll say so and we'll go back a step rather than pretend otherwise.
