I am a professional dance artist who can offer tuition in Contemporary Dance, Ballet, Creative Dance, Tap, Modern, and Choreography. With experience dancing on stage, in commericals and music videos as well as teaching around the country, co-founding the UK Dance Federation and co-creating the technical and creative content of the 8 Rambert Grades (a new contemporary dance syllabus), I draw from all of these experiences to cater the class to your needs. I have taught individuals from age 2-80+ of all abilities and believe everyone should be given the opportunity to experience dance.

About Me

I am a twenty-six year old dance artist based in London. I trained at Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance and went on to complete a Masters degree through the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. I am Vice-Director of the UK Dance Federation and one of the movement creators of the Rambert Grades. I have performed on stage and in front of the camera, I have choreographed for an increasing number of individuals, dance schools and dance organisations, and I have been working extensively within the world of teaching. Teaching has led me to understand and become part of the ‘dance for health’ scene, has given me so many opportunities to enjoy the uninhibited approach to movement that children embody and it has deepened my own dance practice immeasurably. I aim to break down hierarchy and instead, instil a mutual respect in the space, mutual give and take and an ethos of open communication and open-mindedness. I wish for any participant of my classes to leave with a sense of joy that will remain with them long after they have left the studio. My class will include elements of Cunningham, Graham, and Release techniques. During Ballet class, we will focus on your technique and musicality as well as your performance skills and intentions. Ciar is a recent graduate of Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance; a versatile queer dance artist freelancing in London with a background in Hip-Hop, Circus Arts, Classical Ballet and Contemporary dance.

I hope to offer everyone an exciting and enjoyable time whilst pushing thier physical capabilities. Dance should be fun!

My class explores a choreographic style of contemporary dance with clear influences from Cunningham technique and my recent expirience working with Jason Mabana. The work will challenge your coordination, rhythm, attention to detail and demostrate a contemporary application of classical teachnical forms, but all through explorative and original material.

The class is structured like any other technical class, each exercise desinged to methodicaly warm up and work the body, building on the previous exercises, before culminating in a longer choreography where we can pull everything together and just have a boogie.

I can tailor the work to each student however I would reccomend having some technical expirience, classical or contemporary.

I am passionate about working with students on developing both their artistry and technique. In this class students can enhance their existing training through personalised lessons, with a special focus on musicality, dynamics and performance in partnership with technique.

I draw on my knowledge as a professional dancer to train dancers whether their goal is to work towards a career in the industry, or invest more in their passion for dance. Lessons take the form of a traditional ballet class, starting at the barre and moving to the centre (adapting to space), and include discussions to help dancers to refine their thought processes and approach.

In this Raqs Sharqi (Belly Dance) class we focus on awakening feminine energy through fluid movements, hip release and expressive choreography. You will explore a wide variety of hip techniques: from circles and figure eights to shimmies and drops while also working on posture, facial expression and presence.
