About Me

I'm a PhD candidate in neuropsycholinguistics and consultant to private clients. My advisory clients include the House of Lords, the NHS, People Primetime International, the Manchester Metropolitan University, Falmouth University, the Emotional Intelligence Academy, the YMCA, the Y Club, the Castelfield Hotel, the National Citizenship Service, Equal Education, etc. My mentoring clients range pre-academic, academic, and professional contexts. My PhD research examines the composite language and communication phenomena of schizophrenia, as relative to figurative language processing, using experimental psycholinguistic methods; my master's dissertation focused on paralinguistics: blended displays (i.e. complex facial expressions) of emotion; and my bachelor's took the form of a stylistics combined honours (i.e. linguistics with creative writing). My vocational experience includes a substantive clinical education post within NHS psychiatric services—specifically, as an interpersonal communications tutor; in parallel, I've provided consultancy services since 2011.

What happened? Very short, I promise: I was walking down the street two years ago, from just opposite this private school, and I thought  myself: well, you might enter this place and see. I like English language very much... and the UK,... but I don' t have a poster of the Queen on my bedroom's wall. It was a sort of a blind date. And there she was: her smile, her diligence, effectiveness. Eva listened to me. And after two weeks she was texting me for a class. Please, Xavier, can you cover for some classes?  And here I am. (That was in the academy English Studio, untill13th March, when the lady in charge said literally that she would pass my 59 students to another teacher because I had no Internet at home, as I had recently moved to another town and had not had time to set the internet) #.................... Morning shift: Professional Objective: English teacher.   Professional experience More than 15 years in several Contact Centers as an Agent or as a Team Leader or  Supervisor. English: pronunciation (British or American) or conversation. NO grammar lessons.
I have facilitated workshops and given classes throughout my career all over the world. English pronunciation is essential these days because English is spoken everywhere and all the time. I followed specialized training such as the verb tonal method, Feldenkrais or mental coaching. We are therefore going to work in a slightly different way by combining articulatory techniques, movement, rhythm, intonation, warming up of the jaw and tongue, stretching of the neck, neck and shoulders to arrive to very fast results.

Yolanda
EFL/ESL Online English Language Tutor (Individuals)
My lessons are student-centred, engaging, and flexible! Lessons are continuously adapted to suit the individual; every lesson is structured based on the needs of the student. The focus of lessons will initially be based on a student needs assessment carried out at the start of your course, and subsequent lessons will be adapted based on your progress throughout the duration of a specific course. Specific learning areas may include: * Refining pronunciation * Practicing everyday language and conversational skills * Exam preparation, focusing on specific grammar and/or vocabulary * Reading comprehension and practice * Writing correction and practice * CV and Cover letter drafting * Job interview preparation Lessons are conducted almost entirely in English. This has shown to be the most effective way for students to learn a foreign or second language! It is recommended that you book an initial course of at least 20 hours.

English language classes for students, kids and adults
Hi, my name is Almasa. I hold BA of English language and literature, besides that, I hold TEFL-TESOL certificate for 120 teaching hours from European Center for Education. I worked as an English teacher for three years, and during that period of time I worked with diverse students, starting from kids to adults. Therefore I can teach any age. Right now I work at Bahcesehir Koleji in Istanbul. I believe that the key to good teaching is to make any topic or material comprehensive, dividing it into smaller units.

Christina Yen-Chun,
Chinese Mandarin, 8 years of experience, Daily Chinese, patient, 1 by 1
Chinese is both deep and interesting. Its grammar is simple, but the reading and writing are full of "surprises". I am Taiwanese and very happy to share and teach my native language. I live in Delémont, Switzerland. In Taiwan, I taught Chinese to foreigners; i have been in international business for almost 20 years and have been exposed to cultures from over 50 different countries. Everyone is always full of freshness and curiosity for Chinese ... Now I will share with you the pleasure and the harvest of learning Chinese. My course is mainly oral, and at the end I hope to be able to speak to you in Chinese. The goal is obviously to be able to express oneself. I personalize all my documents so that the level corresponds to everyone's interests. My students are regardless of their age. (They are teenagers, adults and even retirees) I also created a "WhatsApp" group to promote learning on a daily basis because it is important to continue having fun. I am really passionate about my job and would love to teach you my native language.
