About Me
After my MSc in Physics at ETH Zurich I've been working as a physicist in a couple of companies, and I've done a PhD at EPFL in physics (finished in 2022) and am working as a data Scientist now. I've been teaching for over 15 years, and have extensive experience for all ages and levels.

I love teaching and I do this for the pleasure of it. Since finishing my phd and starting working I only take one student at the time due to time constraints in order to be able to dedicate properly to the teaching. I prefer long term commitments to be able to build a rapport and understand the student and his/her needs thoroughly, but I might be available for shorter terms too.

I am fluent in French, Italian, German, and Spanish

Hello,

A former student of EPFL (Bachelor of Life Sciences) and HEC Lausanne (Master of Management), I offer courses at primary and secondary level to best prepare you for the maturity exam or the baccalaureate.

Depending on your location, I can give online lessons, via zoom. Thanks to the feedback from several students, I was able to develop online learning methods that are as effective as in person.

Dear student,

I am a chemist graduated from EPFL (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology). I have always been fascinated by science and now I hold a doctorate in solid-state physics from the University of Geneva.

Science subjects can help you pass exams. I have been teaching these disciplines for many years during exercise sessions held at the University as well as in private lessons given as an independent.

For this reason, you will have the possibility to ask me for explanations on any subject. It is indeed useful that you can progress on the basis of what you already know. You will of course have the choice to ask me for remedial lessons to revise or discover entire chapters. Before the first lesson starts, I will invite you to explain your situation to me freely and free of charge so that we can work effectively from the first lesson.

All scientific subjects have in common a method that is called "scientific logic". Whenever the opportunity arises, I will offer you elements of this method because it is this method that will allow you to understand durably and to solve the exercises rigorously.

Your studies are serious business, demand that you be taken seriously.

Best regards,
Julien

As a master's student at EPFL, I offer support courses to share my experience in mathematics, physics and biology. Whether at the secondary, gymnasium or university level, the sessions revolve around the resolution of exercises and the resumption of basic theory in order to understand the key concepts. These courses can be adapted with a view to preparing for one or more exams in particular. I can also provide help in organization and working methods.

Do not hesitate to contact me to discuss your specific needs and establish a tailor-made program that will perfectly match your learning objectives.

Looking forward to working with you,

/!\ Online courses or in person at EPFL/UNIL, no travel to the student's home.

After obtaining my French baccalaureate (specializing in Mathematics and Physics-Chemistry), I continued my studies at EPFL. Currently in my third year of a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, I would be delighted to share the knowledge and methods I have acquired throughout my studies, adapting as much as possible to your learning style and making the lessons as interactive and accessible as possible! I can tutor students up to the final year of high school (gymnasium) in physics and chemistry, and potentially in French up to the entrance of high school. General Chemistry (first year) courses for EPFL or UNIL are also available.

I love teaching and have always enthusiastically helped my classmates. I have been giving private lessons since 2016 (around 25 students, including 4 for a General Physics course in propaedeutics). I am also an assistant for two courses at EPFL (3rd year Bachelor and Master levels), and I co-created and taught the EPFL Advanced Analysis course (for mathematicians and physicists) during the week welcoming new students.

I then strive to transmit my knowledge and my passion for the subject to my students, at a pace adapted to their needs. I think that students who take private lessons have a sincere desire to overcome their difficulties, and that we must therefore pay particular attention to encouraging them. It is therefore step by step that I help them understand the material, by developing their intuition of the different concepts covered while ensuring that they fill in their gaps. My students appreciate my clarity, structure, motivation, patience and flexibility.

If you or your child has difficulty with mathematics, do not hesitate to contact me for more information about my courses.

I offer tutoring in math (algebra, analysis, statistics), physics (mechanics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, fluid mechanics), chemistry, materials mechanics or programming (C, python, MATLAB).

I have extensive experience in tutoring, an activity I have been practicing for about 7 years with different students.

I have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from EPFL and am currently pursuing a master's degree there. I can adapt to the student's level.

I offer academic support and homework help in science subjects (mathematics, physics, chemistry, etc.). I obtained my scientific Baccalaureate with highest honors in 2024 and I am in my second year of engineering at EPFL.

Before each lesson, I like to glance at the chapter or exercises to refresh my memory on certain theorems or formulas if necessary. This allows me to arrive prepared and explain the concepts clearly and in a structured way.

During the lesson, I guide your child step by step, taking the time to re-explain concepts, review the basics if necessary, and help them gain confidence. My goal is not just to solve the exercises, but above all to ensure they truly understand what they are doing and gradually become more independent.

Mathematics and physics form the basis of many scientific fields of study, but they can sometimes seem abstract or difficult to grasp on your own. In my courses, I guide students to help them understand the concepts in depth, progress at their own pace, and gain confidence.

Students can send me the topic of the lesson or their specific questions in advance, so that I can prepare a suitable and effective session.

I am also bilingual in Italian. Although it is not my native language, I particularly enjoy teaching it and helping beginners acquire a solid foundation. My Italian lessons are conversation-based, with supplementary grammar and conjugation exercises to ensure natural and enjoyable progress.

I mainly teach remotely, which allows for great flexibility and personalized support, wherever you are.

I have a strong academic foundation in mathematics up to and including Calculus I and II. I also have solid knowledge in physics and chemistry at school level across all grades. With my specialization in chemistry, I have a particularly strong understanding of this subject. As I am currently a student myself, I am very familiar with the learning process and the challenges students face, which helps me explain concepts clearly and in a structured way.

As a Master's student in Data Science at EPFL, a graduate of CentraleSupélec (ranked in the top 3% of my class) and holder of a Bachelor's degree in microtechnology from EPFL, I offer tutoring in mathematics, physics and computer science, from primary school to university level.
My teaching experience
I was a student teaching assistant at EPFL for 8 courses, working with over 400 students. I currently lead the linear algebra and ICC (Information, Computation, Communication) exercise sessions. Each week, I adapt my explanations to each student's level: that's what I love most about teaching.
What I propose
• Primary and secondary school: consolidate the basics (calculation, fractions, geometry, equations), regain confidence and improve methodology.
• Gymnasium / high school (maturity, baccalaureate): functions, analysis, probabilities, vectors, mechanics, electricity, exam preparation.
• University / EPF / preparatory classes: analysis, linear algebra, probability and statistics, numerical analysis, programming (Python, C/C++).
My method
I begin by identifying the real obstacle: a misunderstanding of the concept, a lack of methodology, or stress. Then, I build the sessions based on the student's lessons and exercises. The goal isn't just to pass the next test, but to understand the material and become independent.
Whether you need occasional homework help, regular support, or intensive exam preparation, I adapt to your needs.
