I hold a Master of Arts in Music from the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp and graduated with honors from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). I have approximately 15 years of experience as a classical guitarist and five years of teaching experience in schools.

Lessons are available in person in Edegem and nearby areas, or online. Lessons can be taught in Spanish, English, Middel German or basic Dutch.

Extra information

Students should bring their own classical guitar and, if available, a footstool or guitar support. Beginners who do not yet own an instrument are welcome to contact me before purchasing one.

Please bring any music or repertoire you are currently studying. Additional learning materials will be selected according to your level and goals.

For online lessons, students need a stable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone.

About Me

I am a classical guitarist, music teacher and researcher from Mexico, currently based in Edegem, near Antwerp.

I teach because I enjoy helping students discover their own musical abilities and overcome difficulties that may initially seem impossible. I am a patient, attentive and structured teacher. My goal is to create a positive environment in which students can learn without fear of making mistakes.

Every student is different. Some want to play for pleasure, while others wish to improve their technique or prepare for an examination, audition or performance. I adapt my teaching methods, repertoire and practice strategies to each student's age, level and personal goals.

In my lessons, I combine healthy technique, musical understanding and artistic expression. I want my students not only to play the correct notes, but also to understand the music, practice independently and develop confidence in their own playing.

Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student.

My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

Cello Lessons for all levels:
My main goal with my teaching is to share my passion for music with my students. I believe strongly that this passion leads to discipline and curiosity which benefit all other aspects of one's life. Conservatory Preparation:
In my experience as a musician living and working in Belgium for the past 9 years, I have noticed a gap in the musical education of young Belgian music students transitioning from Music academies into Conservatories. Oftentimes, these young music students seeking to enter conservatories do not possess the necessary skill level to enter higher education in Music. Through my private teaching, I intend to bridge this gap by catering specifically (though not exclusively) to these students. I strongly believe that there is a huge demand for this type of teaching which I am capable of providing.

I am a graduate of the Antwerp Conservatory of Music and have been playing the cello for 20 years. Despite my young age, since 2012, after winning many auditions, I have played in orchestral projects in 18 European countries. I regularly participated in music courses and workshops.
Currently, I work as a freelancer and am an active concert musician and private teacher.
