Trusted teacher: While studying Social Anthropology and Politics, I would like to exploit my love for languages as well as my inner desire of bringing with me a piece of my cultural background. Teaching is a mutual exchange in which everyone can enlarge his points of view. My lessons are shaped according to needs and goals students want to meet. I think everyone has his own better way of learning and peculiar strengths and weaknesses, and it is important to know these ones in order to success. I adopt an innovative approach, which involves speaking, listening and studying with interactive media. My purpose is to work on the four parts of the language (Speaking, Writing, Listening and Reading). I carefully select the material I use. I want my lessons to be stimulating and consider them to be a moment of mutual growth. I like my students to be enthusiastic of learning and always ready to be challenged. I have studied Latin language and literature, Italian, Ancient Greek, philosophy (etcetera) for 5 years and I have been teaching for three years. Thanks to private tutoring, I have developed a profound empathy (it is important to recognise needs and skills of students since I tailor my classes according to their attitudes and levels) as well as effective methods to overcome difficulties learners would eventually meet. I'm very dynamic so I do not want standard classes in which students simply receive notions, but a stimulating environment where everyone can learn by getting into italian culture as well as making comparisons and discussing about different topics.

I can tutor French to anyone who has an intermediate level in French as I will be explaining everything in my mothertongue. I can also try to explain by speaking English, but I am not bilingual yet so it would be better if you already have a level in French! I design each class according to YOUR personal needs. I generally focus on grammar, because to me it's one of the most important points when learning a new language. If you are really interested in the language itself, I can also teach you certain locutions that even native speakers use wrong! Teaching is one a of passions, so I will be glad to answer any questions from the meaning of a word to French expressions

I have 4 years' experience as a teacher of languages with the prestigious British Council in Egypt, Qatar and Mexico. I studied Spanish at secondary school, during my first year at the University of Cambridge and again when I lived in Mexico City. I took the DELE official diploma of Spanish as a foreign language issued on behalf of the Spanish government at the C2 (native-like) level in December 2019. Every lesson of mine includes some vocabulary work, because it is easy to get lazy and not record the new words we hear and understand, but active vocabulary study is essential for continual growth. I encourage learners to do as many written grammar exercises as they can outside of the classroom, so that classroom time can be dedicated to valuable conversation practice. I help learners use technology to improve their memory and learn more quickly.
This course, divided into two different parts depending on the subject of interest (English or Greek/Ancient Greek), is for aspiring students to learn a language, support their arguments and express their ideas with clarity. The results of this effort are directed by the importance of communicating through language. The aim is to create a challenging learning environment, which will be anything but overwhelming. As a tutor, I specialise in the methodology of learning. My primary focus is on the ways through which students enjoy the learning process so that memorizing details and rules wouldn't be very difficult or uninspiring. Grammar is important, however, the method through which a student can get interested in it, is what matters the most. Homework will be assigned weekly, however, its role is of less importance compared to the actual attendance of the students during the course. Teamwork is the key to this beautiful door called 'learning a language'.

Trusted teacher: I have been working in the Adult Learning and Career Development sectors for more than 12 years, supporting people to grow and develop both personally and professionally. I have also worked in counselling settings with young people, adults and couples, as well as managing a mentoring project and undertaking academic proof-reading, and all these experiences inform my methods now. I blend a person-centred focus with a practical and structured approach to good effect. I believe that professional development goes hand-in-hand with increased understanding of self and others, also known as emotional intelligence. Understanding and valuing your own strengths and vulnerabilities helps you communicate more strongly and create more honest, productive relationships, both at home and at work, and can impact on your ability to make a convincing argument in written form as well. I am happy to meet you at your home, at my home or at another location convenient to us both, or we can work via webcam. I normally prepare tasks or concepts to consider between meetings, and always tailor the sessions to what you most need or want to get out of them. If you want a simple listening ear, that is fine - if you want someone to create a schedule to help you stick to goals, I can do that. We can decide between us what might best help you get where you want to in your life or career. The availability in the calendar below is just a guide, I can work around your schedule, so please feel free to ask about specific days or times.
