I teach a variety of lessons to students of a variety of ages as well as adults. These include courses in modern global history, Japanese history, language and culture, academic English (particularly designed to help non-native speakers develop reading and writing skills, and critical thinking). I can also offer tutoring to meet a specific need, such as preparation for GCSEs and A-levels.

About Me

I have a passion for teaching and have one awards and accolades for my classes/tutorials.
My classes are student-centred, and I aim to put students in charge of their own learning.
I take a very interactive approach to teaching students.
Students have often remarked that I'm very friendly, and easy to get on with.

Experience / Qualifications

I have spent many years living in Japan and Hong Kong. In Tokyo I had a variety of different roles working for Japanese and foreign corporations. In Hong Kong, I taught for eight years at an Institute of tertiary education. I also tutored undergraduates at the University of Edinburgh. I speak fluent Japanese.

The class is intended for people who wish to know more about italian language and culture. Classes are structured on italian conversations and/or italian history and culture (food, modern history, cinema..). Requests from students will be added to the classes if possible :)

I specialise in tutoring History to students at GCSE and A-Level. I am familiar with all major examination boards (AQA, OCR, Edexcel etc.) and I can adapt my tutoring to best serve examination practice, essay writing or general understanding of topics.
I specialise particularly in Middle Eastern and Islamic History, though I have taught American History and World History in schools before.

I specialise in tutoring history and politics for GCSE and A-Level students taking the Edexcel exams. My goal is to teach my students in a fun and exciting way, encouraging them to engage in the discipline and hopefully help them avoid feeling burnt out.

I provide one to one history sessions on various subjects tailored to the needs of the student. I will cover areas relating to the current Scottish curriculum and any other subjects of interest to my students. Your historical knowledge and expertise will greatly improve with each passing lesson!

I have been teaching since 2020. Throughout this time I have been teaching pupils from 7 till 17 years old. In my lesson we not only explore Mandarin as a language but we also learn about culture,how characters were created and what kind of festivals Chinese people celebrate till nowadays.

I graduated as an undergraduate with a major in Japanese language, and have a translation qualification certificate of n1 level and catti Level 3.
