I am a Postgraduate Student at the University of St Andrews offering Spanish and Italian lessons to people of all ages and levels. I am fluent in both languages and have just received a First Class degree in Spanish and Italian from the University of Edinburgh. I cater each lesson to the individual as I understand that each student has a different way of learning. I concentrate mainly on vital skills like reading, writing and listening. I have 4 years of experience and can offer support for upcoming National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher exams as well as GCSE and A Level.

English Language is an important foundation for many of the courses you may take in employment or further education, and a requirement for many university courses. My class is designed to help National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher students with the History curriculum and provide them with the skills and understanding to study for their upcoming exams. I am a recent History graduate from the University of Glasgow, and I felt that children and students might benefit from my History classes to strengthen their skills and knowledge. I am experienced with the Scottish curriculum and I have an extensive knowledge of major historical periods and events, which I would like to share through my classes. Overview: I offer bespoke tutoring services to school pupils and individuals studying History, Politics, and English. With a background in History and experience in the teaching and media sectors, I provide a professional, insightful, and comprehensive service aimed at improving a client's understanding of a topic, their confidence within it, and targeting specific issues and skills as required. I also provide advice on university selection and applications, building on experience as an applicant myself and coach for successful applicants to highly selective universities (including Oxford, St Andrews, and UCL). Teaching methodology: I believe that the best way to teach is to communicate, work out the student's needs with them, and proceed from there. We live in a diverse world, and it's important to reflect that diversity in teaching. I believe in using a variety of sources to help teach, ranging from films, to books, to music clips. This is particularly important in the context of clients with LS needs, as a focus on one kind of source can impact the pupil's experience,and hinder their success. My lessons are based on a core Learning Objective, changing from lesson to lesson with the curriculum. Around that, there will be a series of case studies, examples, and anecdotes, with personalised support for exam answers if required. Half the battle with the humanities is ensuring that good ideas are communicated well- I seek to teach history and support the development of those communication skills to ensure that the pupil's ability is reflected.

While studying Social Anthropology and Politics, I would like to exploit my love for languages as well as my inner desire of bringing with me a piece of my cultural background. Teaching is a mutual exchange in which everyone can enlarge his points of view. My lessons are shaped according to needs and goals students want to meet. I think everyone has his own better way of learning and peculiar strengths and weaknesses, and it is important to know these ones in order to succeed. I adopt an innovative approach, which involves speaking, listening and studying with interactive media. My purpose is to work on the four parts of the language (Speaking, Writing, Listening and Reading). I carefully select the material I use. I want my lessons to be stimulating and consider them to be a moment of mutual growth. I like my students to be enthusiastic of learning and always ready to be challenged. I have studied Latin language and literature, Italian, Ancient Greek, philosophy (etcetera) for 5 years and I have been teaching for three years. Thanks to private tutoring, I have developed a profound empathy (it is important to recognise needs and skills of students since I tailor my classes according to their attitudes and levels) as well as effective methods to overcome difficulties learners would eventually meet. I'm very dynamic so I do not want standard classes in which students simply receive notions, but a stimulating environment where everyone can learn by getting into Italian culture as well as making comparisons and discussing about different topics.

My name is Aurora, I have a degree in environmental sciences and a master's degree in microbiology. I am Italian and I have been living in Madrid for three years. I offer individual Italian classes: my goal is to advance the student without overloading him. I give homework after each lesson and periodically provide progress reports.
