Oxbridge Application Preparation (Life Sciences Admissions)
From 32 £ /h
Are you thinking of applying to Oxbridge for Life Sciences (Natural Sciences, Biology, Biomedicine)?
With acceptance rates averaging around 15%, you want to give yourself the best chance to get that offer! And this is where I come in. I hold a 1st from Oxford in Biological Sciences and have volunteered as an Admissions mentor for over three years, coaching students through the application process. We will work together to adapt the course to your needs, working flexibly to focus on the areas where you want extra support.
How can I help?
- Personal Statement Support: Writing a personal statement doesn’t have to be painful. We will create an initial outline using your experiences and interests, producing a clear message and story throughout. Then, I will provide editing support, helping you to cut words down for the strict character limits.
- Course and College Selection: Overwhelmed by the choice of courses/colleges? I can provide personal, insider knowledge into each college, helping you to make the right decision for you.
- Tutorial Prep: Using my knowledge of the tutorial system, I design personalised tutorials based on your interests, fostering your love of science and building your confidence. Self-belief is an underrated skill, and together we will work to develop your confidence to speak up, even if you think you are wrong.
- Interview Prep: The infamous Oxbridge interviews will not be as scary as they seem after our sessions. Using the self-belief and scientific analysis skills developed in our tutorial sessions, you will feel well-equipped to deal with an interview scenario. Initially, we will go through my bank of interview questions, discussing your approach and response to questions. As time goes on, we will start to practice mock interviews, 30-45 minutes of questions with feedback given afterwards.
- Admissions Test Prep: Many courses demand rigorous admissions tests, which require sound subject knowledge and lateral thinking. We will work on these together, helping you to become accustomed to the style of the questions.
I look forward to hearing from you!

About Me
I am an Oxford Biology graduate with 3 years of admissions mentoring experience, so I have an in-depth knowledge of the admissions system and process.
I want all my students to come away from our sessions feeling enthusiastic and excited about science! We will explore your interests, delving deeper into the grey areas and challenges in the life sciences. Our sessions will focus on building your confidence and helping you to develop the skills to be an awesome scientist, wherever you end up! In addition, we can adjust the course to suit your needs, forming a personalised plan for your development. Similarly, I give regular verbal feedback, but I can convert this to a written form if you’d prefer.
