Are you a student gearing up for your National 5 Mathematics exams? Do you want to ace your math skills and achieve the results you've always dreamed of? Look no further – my National 5 Maths Tutoring is here to guide you on an exciting journey to mathematical excellence!

Prior to each session, we will have a topic chosen from the National 5 maths curriculum to focus on. I will begin by providing a concise overview of the topic's importance and relevance and I will explain key concepts, formulas, and rules related to the chosen topic. The session will mainly consist of interactive practice where I will present practice problems covering all aspects of the chosen topic. I will guide the student through solving problems step by step, emphasising key strategies, whilst also encouraging the student to actively participate and attempt solving problems independently. In the last quarter of the session, I will administer a brief quiz with a few questions related to the topic for the student to tackle independently. We will then review the quiz together, and I will provide immediate feedback on correct and incorrect answers. This is to gauge the student's understanding and identify areas for improvement we will focus on in the next session if needed. At the end of each session, I will assign a set of practice problems for the student to complete before the next session. I encourage all students to reach out if they encounter any challenges while working on the assignments! Not only will I help with their mathematical skill, but I will also share tips on effective exam strategies, such as time allocation for different sections and provide advice on staying calm and organised during the exam.

About Me

Navigating through the educational ladder, I not only completed the National 5 Maths course but also excelled in Higher Maths and Advanced Higher Maths, securing A grades along the way. This journey was more than just academic achievements; it was a firsthand experience of the challenges students face at each level. Having walked the exact path my students are treading, I possess an intimate familiarity with the curriculum, the common stumbling blocks, and the strategies that proved effective for me. As a mathematics tutor, I am uniquely equipped to connect with my students on a relatable level, making the learning process smoother and instilling in them the confidence that they too can triumph over the challenges presented by each math level.

Education

Attended the Edinburgh Academy up until June 2023 after I sat my Advanced Higher exams.
Going on to study Modern History at the University of St Andrews in September 2024 after my gap year.

7 Scottish National Five qualifications, all Grade A; 1 GCSE at Level 7 in Art and Design.
5 Scottish Higher qualifications; Maths, English, German, Geography and History all at A1 grades
3 Scottish Advanced Higher qualifications; Maths, Geography and History, all at A1 grades.
