I specialise in tutoring English from primary school age through to university level. My goal is to keep students challenged, but not overwhelmed; all lessons are unique to each student. I am highly experienced, having worked as a teaching assistant in a primary school and secondary school, and I have just graduated with a first-class degree in English. I have been an examiner for AQA and am familiar with both AQA and Edexcel GCSE and A-level specifications, having taught the Edexcel spec before. Utopian Studies extends the notion from Thomas More's Utopia to the emergence of dystopian literature, highlighting the connection between fictionalized literary works and reality. The seminar is designed for students with advanced reading skills as the primary readings are mainly novels. Students are expected to carry out individual research. Further readings (journals, academic papers, etc) will be provided to support the discussion during the class.
