Hello everyone,
My name is Ena and i am a professional classical singer, i recently moved to Geneva and started my Season at the Grand Theatre de Geneve as a mezzosoprano in Ensemble of the opera.
Since i love teaching, even with my busy schedule i try to find time to pass my knowledge and passion for singing to whomever is in need or would just like to try it out:)
I have 2 Master degrees in my field and have been professionally singing on big stages since 10 years now.
My focus of the lessons is mainly on technique and breathing but nevertheless fun and discovering new things are definitely gonna be big part of it too.
You can decide which genre you would like to sing (classical, pop, jazz, musical..) and then the journey starts!

I am a Clarinet, Saxophone and Vocal coach from Zimbabwe with over a decade of teaching and performance experience from leading a successful solo career and working as a music teacher. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Jazz singing from Haute Ecole de Musique (HEMU) Lausanne where I am currently studying a Masters in Jazz Pedagogy. I have also studied music in Dublin Ireland, where I acquired a Higher Certificate in Jazz and Contemporary Music from Newpark Music Centre's Berklee Track program which is facilitated by Berklee College of Music in Boston. I was the 2024 laureat of the Foundation Casino Barrier Award for talent and creativity and a 2018 winner of the Zimbabwean National Arts Council's National Arts Merit Award (NAMA). I am a singing teacher, a student of lyrical singing at the Geneva Conservatory of Music since the age of nine and of modern singing at the Institute of Complete Vocal Education in Geneva since 2009.

I offer private and group lessons at home (between Geneva and Thonon). I can also welcome students to their homes in Veigy.
I teach in English or in English.

I guide the student through the initiation to singing and the establishment of reflexes essential to their practice. Generally speaking, these points include body/facial posture, breathing, accuracy, and rhythm. At the same time, I encourage them to discover and practice each mode, color, and effect that can be achieved with the voice.

I use the piano and/or guitar as support.

I also offer recording and looping sessions as well as support in songwriting.

The voice is a personal and complex instrument, which is why I adapt each lesson to the goals and personalities of my students.

With a beginner, I devote half of each course to technical work. I start the class with some body exercises to wake up the body and then follow up with breathing exercises. Once the body is awake and breathing has entered its cycle, I propose drumming exercises. First I make him sing vocalizations on the vowels that suit him well, then I add the consonants to these vowels. Consonants arouse sensations in the muscles of the face, make the lips vibrate and some help lift the soft palate.
Once the voice is turned on, I ask the student to sing while walking so that he finds a kind of flexibility in his body and he looks for his voice from the physical movements. This gives a movement, a game that engages the body. Thanks to this approach, the body is better mobilized and the abdominal muscles participate unconsciously in the work. This also helps him to perceive his center of gravity and awakens deeper support. During class, I often approach the student to check the muscular work and the opening of the ribs and back. I fix my attention on the jaw tension and I propose exercises that can solve this problem. Thus the voice begins to free itself by taking a richer tone and a rounder tone.

The course is dedicated to music learning and interpretation, incorporating technical elements as well as some vocalizations. In general, before choosing the program for the student, I take the time to get to know the type of voice of the student, his way of being, the characteristics of his personality to better adapt the genre of music and the directory. I often choose pieces that help to install the medium of the voice, especially taking into account the student's mother tongue. Having already worked on the medium of the voice, the student gradually begins to expand his vocal range. The touching and dramatic content of the chosen piece often pushes the student to engage physically and mentally in the song by expressing his own expressiveness.

Italian is the language of singing par excellence because it contains pure vowels. Thanks to the Italian repertoire, I'm working on the legato, on longer sentences as well as on the phrasing, on the spirit of the piece and on the dynamics of the piece to discover how the music really exists when all the elements are found.

A solo career is a demanding one: you need solid technique, a high degree of self-confidence, and a thorough understanding of your vocal instrument to be able to manage and care for it. I am a soloist in full career, graduated with a Bachelor and a Master of Soloist in Lyric Singing from the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne. I have 24 years of singing lessons behind me and a rich stage experience. I lead my solo career on the stages of many countries (England, Milan, Paris, Bordeaux, Geneva, Lausanne, Brazil, Belgium...). Although already having significant experience in vocal teaching, I am, in parallel with my career, pursuing a 2nd Master in Vocal Teaching at the Haute École de Musique de Genève, in an effort to further perfect my approach to singing teaching.

Before specializing in opera singing, I performed for more than 12 years in the pop/variety genre.

I will help you discover your voice, whether you are a beginner or experienced, on a technical, musical and aesthetic level.

I can also help you learn your musical part if you are a member of a choir.

We'll discuss your goals and work with a methodology that works for you. A tailor-made path to help you progress as you wish.

Classes are generally structured around a warm-up and technique section (body awakening, exercises, vocalizations), then we work on the piece(s) you want to sing. And finally, we take a few minutes to debrief on the class and discuss what's next.
