When you are writing music, it is very important that you show your music to people. Someone with experience in composition, even better. It is sometimes difficult to take that step to show your pieces that you have worked hard on. But this is a very important step, it makes you more confident in your own piece. From then on, people can receive feedback and evolve further. In my lessons, I work mainly on structure and learning to compose. If necessary, I will also work on details, but first the idea and the form have to be right. Composing is an evolution and I myself am getting better every year.

To compose better, thorough music theory is also important. Just as you can express yourself better with more vocabulary, you can write better music and translate your idea into notes better with more music knowledge. The importance of this is often underestimated. For me, music theory (all the basic knowledge but especially harmony and counterpoint) go hand in hand.

About Me
I have been releasing electronic music for a few years now. If you want to listen you can find me by my artist name: BLAHMI. My background in classical music has a big influence on this, although the music is electronic. I like to mix all kinds of styles but attach great importance to classical music. For me it is the basis, the better you know the rules, the better you can break them. I have followed Harmony and Counterpoint at a high level and this has given me a lot of insights. However, I am a big supporter of contemporary music and know the "contemporary" styles and have written in them myself. I like to pass on all this knowledge because besides just composing myself, I love teaching.
Education
After graduating in classical piano at Muda, I continued my studies at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. However, I started with Composition instead of piano, because I prefer writing to playing. In my second bachelor Composition, I also started a second bachelor Music and Technology. This second direction mainly revolves around programming effects (in Max) and seeing the computer as an instrument within classical music. We develop new "instruments" and then compose for this instrument (the computer) ourselves. Solo or ensemble, mixed with acoustic instruments for example. I am starting to know my way around Max/msp/Jitter quite well and I have been using Ableton Live for 7 years. I have had lessons in mixing/mastering and often do this myself for my own music. I also still follow classical composition.
Experience / Qualifications
From the age of 15 I wanted to be a professional musician, and I have had lessons from all kinds of teachers, and have seen all kinds of things. I know what taking lessons is. I have been teaching classical piano for a few years myself, where I also like to teach some music theory and I enjoy it immensely.

Ableton Live is a great program, but it takes a while to get the hang of it. I have been working with it for 7 years and am starting to know it inside and out. It speeds up your creation process enormously if you know the software well. Otherwise it can take a long time and you get discouraged faster. In addition to Ableton Live, I am also starting to know Max. This is not a DAW but a visual programming language that is often used by artists because you do not have to learn to write code for it right away. You can use it to make music, but also for lights and video. It is a very deep program with many possibilities. I can give you the basics of this.

Professional saxophonist eager to teach and work to bring out the best version of yourself!

The lessons are intended for all levels, children or adults.
We follow a working method where you will continuously and deeply develop your musicality, way of playing, expressiveness and technique.

Raúl is a Spanish saxophonist who finished his DIDACTIC MASTER in 2018 at the École Supérieure des Arts in Mons. Previously, he also completed a MASTER OF INTERPRETATION at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (2015-2017) in the class of Alain Crepin and Simon Diricq.
He studied at the "Musikene" (Higher Conservatory of Music of the Basque Country) with Eric Devallon, Tomás Jérez, Antonio Felipe Belijar and Miguel Ángel Lorente.

Passionate about multidisciplinary artistic creation, he thinks of the mixing of all the arts in the same show as an aesthetic goal. This type of research could be observed in his project for his final master's recital in Brussels where he created a project based on Maslow's theory of the hierarchy of human needs where he mixed live, recorded music, dance, light shows and effects under the name: “according to Maslow... ”

In terms of his career as a concert artist, he has played in different ensembles (solo performances, duo, trio, quartet, orchestra...) and different countries such as Japan (Artisanal Musical Fair "Suono Italia" 2010), Belgium (Festival Musiq3 2016), Artonov Festival at BOZAR in 2016...), France (Dax chamber music festival 2011) or Spain (Music Festival “Quincena Musical” 2015, Aste Nagusia 2015, Heineken Jazzaldia 2014, Festival Kutxa 2015, Intercentros Melómano 2010).

As a vocal coach, I understand that it is important to develop a good vocal technique but also to develop self-confidence and mastery of oneself in order to be able to deliver the best of oneself in any situation.

I deal with students of all levels and ages. I explore with them different musical fields according to their desires and affinities. My classes are a mix of technique, improvisation and practice. I really like the practice to include an element of interactivity with my students and so that they are able to come out of my lessons with mastered pieces, in their own way. Indeed, I also like to take the time to research with my students their own inner voices and talents so that they really find themselves artistically speaking; a kind of musical inner journey.

So, if you are looking to develop your vocal and musical abilities as well as develop your own artistic voice, do not hesitate to contact me!

Hello everyone ! I am 39 years old, I am a professional guitarist and graduate composer. My rich and varied musical journey, going from "Art Rock" to Classic, passing by French song and currently jazz allowed me to acquire a beautiful experience that I like to share with my students.

Obviously passionate about my favorite instrument, I am just as passionate about music theory. From baroque counterpoint to jazz harmony, from classical orchestration to digital music publishing, I have always thought that understanding the sound universe multiplies perspectives, opens up new horizons! My method is simple and has always proven to be effective: working in symbiosis with pure instrumental technique and the general understanding of music, its cogs which seem to the novice musician so mysterious.

In addition to basic instrument learning, I also teach:
🎸️ Experimental instrumental techniques
🎸️ Work of virtuosity
🎸️ Picking game
🎤️ How to go well with singing
🎵️ Arrangement
🎵️ Composition
🎵️ Harmony (classical or jazz)
🎵️ Improvisation
💻️ MAO (Computer Aided Music)

Exploring musical styles:
#Pop #EXP #Classique #Electro #Jazz #Jazz Manouche #Art & Hard Rock #Chanson Française #Blues #Funk (60's / 70's)

🎥️ Possibility of lessons by webcam
️🇬🇧️ I also speak English
🏡️ I give lessons mainly at my home: Châtelain district in Ixelles, many transport nearby:
🚊️ bus (54), tram (92, 94, 81.) and metro (Louise).

🐸️ GREAT BEGINNERS welcome! (no prior knowledge necessary)

I'm Giorgos and i teach Lute and Classical guitar!
I have over 15 years of teaching experience, and have studied and have my Degrees from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, both in Classical Guitar as well as Historical Plucked instruments.

I regularly perform in concert halls with orchestras and groups all around Europe, perform with my own ensembles based in Brussels and Italy, and enjoy an active teaching schedule.

My aim with teaching is to find the best way to facilitate the student to find their own voice and direction, and to help steer them on their preferred road of performance. The schedule and repertoire are decided by the student, and we plot a course together depending on your goals, whether that's aiming to place into an academy or the conservatories, or if you just enjoy playing music as a hobby and wish that it accompanies you through your life!

I'm looking forward to hear from you!

Considering the fact that many pupils and grownups don't have much time to practise, my piano lessons are split in learning new information and also practising together.

Have you ever seen a saxophone and wondered how it feels to play it? It’s never too late to start! I will help you get started with the instrument. Do you already know how the instrument works? Great! Let’s take it to another level!

I have plenty of study method books with a big range of different styles, we will find the ones that you enjoy the most and suit you better and combine it in the right way, to help you improve. Plus work on any music that you personally want to learn, name any song and I will help you learn how to play it!

I myself had amazing and terrible music teachers during my learning process and believe me, I know what a difference makes... To really enjoy learning music or just to feel a ‘must study’, is the difference between ‘...I have to’ or ‘I want to!’.

I finished a Bachelor and a Master's degree in the Music Conservatory (The Hague) and then spent five years in the jazz scene in New York City, which gave me a very wide experience. Whether you are a beginner or preparing to enter a Music Conservatory, I can help you.

Classes description:

I have different study books we can use depending on the level, Wastall, Klose, Voxman, classic duets, jazz duets, Rubank, Horen, Lezen & Spelen, etc.... Plus I can write for you the songs you want to learn. If you have specific needs of topics to learn I will adapt the lesson and material to it. If what you want is to start or develop further in jazz music and/or improvisation, I’m definitely ready to help you!

Beginners:
Start finding the sound of the instrument, where the notes are within all those keys, begin with learning how to read music if you don’t read yet, and find easy and fun songs to play to enjoy the instrument already. I can introduce you to the understanding of basic harmony and theory concepts to help understand better inside music that you are playing.

Intermediate:
We can get to improve the technique of the instrument, reading skills, get more precision, speed, sound and timing and musical expression. Advance the understanding of harmony, its beauty and its possibilities. If you like to work on improvisation we can get to discover how to enjoy improvising with all the technical tools you already learned in the past and enhance that material according to your taste. If you want to start with playing jazz music I can introduce you to first steps and nice and technically comfortable songs to begin with.

Advanced:
At an advanced level it’s very important to understand the direction you want to take and what you especially want to improve. However I can help you perfectionate sound and timing, rhythm, vibrato, etc..., work on the accuracy of the reading and at the same time make it sound musical and human. On jazz music and/or improvisation, expand the vocabulary for improvising, the knowledge of harmony, what you can do with the material you know from different perspectives, increase precision and sense of direction when phrasing lines, learn more jazz standards, help on original compositions. And of course share all the better understanding of jazz music I learned during my years in New York City.

Classical music is a unique way of self-expression and inner development. In addition to certain skills of playing an instrument, you also develop your memory, motor skills, synchronicity and much more.

I am a third-year student at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, but also a laureat of international competitions. My musical journey began in my hometown in Kazakhstan, and then in Moscow at the Tchaikovsky Central Music School (which I graduated with a diploma of distinction). In addition to concert activities, I teach piano and music theory for everyone (beginners, professionals). I try to find a personal approach to each of my students, as this is the only way to achieve success. Hoping to help everyone who wants to discover classical music!

We will explore the world of electronic music, starting with the basics of sound synthesis and moving on to multi-channel diffusion in 3D audio.
We will see how the most widely used software in the world of electronics (Max/MSP, Ableton, Reaper) works to build performance environments, where we will be able to use the most popular plugins for signal processing or create our own processing engine.
MIDI protocol configuration for controllers, OSC, construction of small electronic circuits with the help of Arduino.
We will pay attention to the acoustic and psychoacoustic aspects of sound that are fundamental for the correct diffusion and listening of music.
We will also take a look at the main audio recording techniques.
As I am very passionate about this and have the necessary equipment, we will have the opportunity to see analog synthesis up close through the use of modular synthesizers.
