In February, 2022 I graduated as a Jazz French horn player at the University of Music and Dance, Cologne in the class of Prof. Shannon Barnett, Hubert Nuss and Frank Gratkowski. Currently, I am doing my Master studies at the Kunstuniversität, Graz.
My activities reflect my passions in diverse musical styles including various settings from big band, symphonic music to contemporary, folk music and all things African.
My latest musical associations is my with my quartet, inspired by different cultural and musical elements. Through the freedom of composition and improvisation.

In these lessons you will learn how to study and play the piano. You can ask for specific pieces that you really want to play, or we can start togheter a training with exercises and pieces. I also teach sightreading (how to read a score!), how to play with singers or other musicians and solfeggio. Regarding composition, I can give you the first base and teach how to approach, how to analyse a piece, and how to train the ear, and a bit of harmony and contrapoint.

I am a cellist, composer and pianist from Chicago currently residing in Graz, Austria! I received my Bachelors in Cello and Composition in the USA from Indiana University and am currently pursuing my masters in Cello Konzertfach at Kunst Universität Graz. I have years of experience working as a private cello, piano and composition teacher. I am used teaching all levels, and have certification to teach string students as young as six years old from Indiana University's String Academy Program. In addition to teaching instrumental and composition lessons privately, I also have experience teaching music theory and aural skills as a graduate teaching assistant.

I adjust my teaching based on what you or your child would like to learn. From helping you learn to play a Bach cello suite, to Bohemian Rhapsody on piano, or get feedback and mentorship on your own compositions, I would be happy to play a part in your musical journey! :)

I'm Jacob, graduate Composer and music producer and have coached more than 50 students in 6 years. Among them many who now publish regularly, such as Holger Rohmann, Robert Getzner and Mila Chiral.

I try to place special emphasis on musical approaches in my lessons.
How do I start, how do I turn my first idea into a whole track and how do I deal with form, harmony, melody and of course rhythm; are all questions that are dealt with in my classes.

Genre doesn't matter too much as my classes are more about composing electronic music in general. In contrast to the usual workshops, the individual lessons allow me to respond very precisely to individual needs and interests.

This class focuses on professional music notation and practical arranging using Sibelius.

You will learn how to create clean, readable and performance-ready scores – from piano reductions to small ensemble arrangements. The emphasis is not only on software operation, but on real-world workflow: layout, part extraction, clarity, structure and professional presentation.

This is not a DAW or beat production course. It is designed for musicians, composers or students who want to improve their notation skills and learn how to prepare scores at a professional level.

Lessons are adapted to your experience level and can focus on technical software skills, arranging techniques, or the complete process from musical idea to finished score.

Welcome to my music lessons! I am an experienced teacher and can help you achieve your musical goals, whether you want to make music for fun or prepare for an entrance exam at a music academy.

In my piano lessons you will:

1) Improve your technical skills through my personal collection of technical exercises.
2) Expand your repertoire in any style you like. My specialty is classical music, but together we can also learn pop songs and any other song you enjoy or are interested in.
3) Learn and apply arrangement techniques on the piano: You will be able to play songs by your favorite bands on the piano alone, without losing any musical information! (for advanced students)

Ultimately: Learn the art of playing the piano effectively and constructively, and have fun doing it!

Composition and music theory lessons:

1) Harmony and counterpoint: Understanding harmonic relationships, chord connections, voice leading and polyphonic writing.
2) Aural training: Development of musical ear training through the recognition of intervals, chords, rhythms, melodies and harmonic relationships.
3) Composition and musical analysis: Learning various composition techniques, developing one's own musical ideas and analyzing works from different eras and styles.
4) Musical creativity and own works: Promotion of individual musical language and support in developing, writing and elaborating on own compositions.
5) Music theory in practice: Combining theoretical knowledge with active music-making, improvisation and composition.
