About Me

I love teaching Spanish as a foreign language because I think it is a way of connecting with people and building bridges of dialogue. I really enjoy listening to them and encouraging them to use their Spanish, because it is about having the ability to open up to the world and break personal and interpersonal barriers.
I like students eager to learn and curious about the language. As well as parents who support their children and encourage them because they know that a foreign language will open doors for them in their future and will make them independent and confident people.

I graduated with a degree in basic education with an emphasis on humanities and Spanish at the Francisco Jose de Caldas District University in Bogotá- Colombia.

My name is Dani and I am Mexican. I always ask my students about their specific goals and their preferred way of learning a language. In my classes I like to take a conversational approach, but this depends entirely on the needs of my students. I use different books with different didactic material, mostly Aula Plus and Bitacora. I also try to practice all skills: talking, writing and listening. If the student wants it, I leave homework, which I correct during the week before the next lesson, so that we can make the most of the lesson time. I share a word or phrase of the week with my students to build a useful vocabulary. Teaching is my passion. I feel motivated by the progress of my students, which I believe also keeps them motivated. German and Spanish are my native languages and I speak fluent English, I also speak fluent Dutch (with a little accent). Therefore, I can explain concepts in all these languages. However, I prefer to speak Spanish as much as possible, also for the beginners lessons, because I believe that people learn the language better that way.

Conversational Spanish is a very important part of the learning as it is the natural way to learn it. My classes are designed to help students to learn in a natural way by choosing a topic and dealing with that topic from all angles: grammar, speaking, listening and translating.
