About Me

Music has been a common thread in my life since I was a child.

It all started playfully, with Music Jam on the PlayStation 2. What was then a hobby quickly grew into a deep passion. From the age of 16, I fully immersed myself in the world of music production and started making beats in Ableton. Year after year, I built up experience by experimenting, failing, learning, and, above all, creating a lot.

That curiosity and drive eventually led me to professional training. I enrolled in the Music Producer program at the Audiovisuals Academy, where I further refined my technical knowledge, workflow, and creative skills.

Now, at 33, I not only have many years of practical experience under my belt, but also a broad understanding of everything that music production entails: from sound design to mixing, and from arranging to finishing complete tracks.

Today I want to share that knowledge. Why?
Because I know firsthand how overwhelming it can feel to start, and how valuable it is when someone shows you the right direction. I've always believed that creativity grows when you receive guidance from someone who has traveled the path themselves. That's why I teach: to help others progress faster, make better music, and discover their own style.

My goal is simple: to guide you into a fully-fledged, confident music producer with a strong workflow, knowledge of Ableton, and a distinctive sound. I teach in a personalized, clear, and practical way—no dry theory, but real production skills you can immediately apply to your own tracks.

My drum lessons can go in all directions. From jazz to pop and rock and hip hop. Always starting from a good technical basis and live guidance. For all levels and age groups. Usually I build up the lessons from technical exercises. These serve as a warm-up and basic vocabulary for the student. The technical exercises start with simple single strokes but quickly build up to rolls, accents, double strokes and flams. The second part of a lesson covers the knowledge of different grooves. Both two-part and three-part grooves are part of the lesson package, but also quintuplets of grooves. In the last part of the lesson, the student has the freedom to bring his own music and analyze it during the lesson.

I am Jess, a musician and producer from Ghent, graduated as a bachelor in music at PXL Hasselt. In the meantime I have been teaching guitar for 10 years at music studios and in the form of private lessons at home. Besides teaching I have my own project called Monagi and I write/produce for bands like Tout Va Bien and Patches. I also play guitar at TheShadow Machine. All my lessons take place in a relaxed atmosphere in my music studio in Ghent at your own pace.

For beginners: During our guitar lesson you can bring your own songs that you want to work on or together we will see what the best songs are for you and what you can learn the most from. This ranges from the basic chords that make up most pop / rock songs to playing along with the melody or accompanying yourself while singing. So you can play what you always dreamed of in no time!

For advanced users: Together we look at what you want to work on in terms of rhythm, soloing or improvisation. Which styles you are familiar with or which you would like to learn to play. These lessons are ideal for you if you want to broaden your knowledge of the guitar or if it feels like you've reached a plateau you can't get past.

At the age of 16 I was accepted in the Exceptional Young Talent program at the Vienna Konservatorium Budapest, after studying for 4 years and finishing the program, I moved to Belgium and I obtained my Bachelor at Royal Conservatory of Ghent and I’m pursuing my career here ever since, I have won International Piano Competitions, I have played solo concerts in Paris, Poland, Budapest, Vienna, Mallorca.

Modular synthesis is the place to be when it comes to new electronic music technologies. The cool thing about working with eurorack (modular synthesis) is that you can build your own electronic music system as you go. In this series of lessons you will learn the ins and outs of a number of essential Eurorack modules, VCOs, VCFs, VCAs, etc., and you will get started with them.
