About Me

I received my education and training in the UK, at one of the country's top music schools. Since graduating, I've pursued a career in music eduction, with a specialisation in violin and viola.

My aim is to make lessons enjoyable and productive, so that my students come away feeling motivated and inspired. I want to help you achieve your full potential and to have fun along the way!

I have been teaching the violin and viola for over 10 years, and I've been lucky enough to work across the world from Europe to Asia via the Middle East. I care deeply about bringing music to those who wouldn't otherwise get the opportunity and it brings me a lot of joy to know that I've inspired a new generation of musicians.

Born in 1998, Virginia started learning violin at the age of 3, under the tutelage of under Ms Beedarn Chao and Ms Rosa Lam. In 2013, she attained DipABRSM in violin performance and Grade 8 piano one year later. In 2018, Virginia graduated from King’s College London with a Bachelor of Music (First Class Honours), under the sponsorship of the “King’s Hong Kong Scholarships” At KCL, she studied violin with tutors from the Royal Academy of Music - Mr. Nicolas Dupont and Ms Georgia Hannant. She also studied composition with Professor Silvina Milstein, Robert Keeley and Dr. Edward Nesbit. Her works have been performed by UK professional musicians and ensembles such as Clare McCaldin and Lontano Ensemble.

Since university, Virginia has been actively teaching primary to form 6 students at King’s St George’s Music Academy (London) and Sevenoaks School, one of the top 5 UK boarding schools. Aiming to branch out in the field of music, Virginia has took up various arts administration and marketing positions in leading ensembles such as the English Music Festival, London City Philharmonic and more since 2016.

I am a music educator. From Hong Kong. I can play piano, violin and cello. I play cello in an orchestra and also a piano accompanist. I am a concert pianist and a piano teacher native to Japan but I also enjoy teaching music theory very much as I strongly believe understanding of Music Theory can aid your principal instrument playing enormously!
I have been a head of Music Theory Department in a music academy in HK as well as a senior Piano Instructor for the past years. I have previously taught music theory and analysis in HK and UK in both private and group settings for over 13 years. My past students had a 100% passing rate of Gr. 5 theory exam.

Have previous experiences in teaching small violin classes and one to one private classes at schools. I speak fluent English, Cantonese and Mandarin. Have performed in different orchestras both in London and in Hong Kong. I am a full time violin instructor, students ranging from age 4 to adults. My teaching emphasises in the posture, techniques, music style as well as music knowledge, encourage students to participate in music exams and competition. Practise makes perfect and to have passion in music are the goals towards confidence and success.

First, Professional. Holding a Master in Music post-graduate degree, the teacher has been teaching piano lessons professionally for 17 years. She has a solid theoretical foundation in music teaching, composition, and piano performance.
