I am offering online theory lessons. Whether you are preparing for the ABRSM Gr. 5 theory exams or you would like to deepen your knowledge by proceeding to further grades, I am happy to help and guide you through them effectively and efficiently!

<Why learn online?>
Unlike instrumental lessons, learning music theory online does not have any disadvantages. Using zoom, students can learn via shared screen and white board just like face-to-face lessons. Why not save your weekly travel time as well!

<Biography>
I am a concert pianist and a piano teacher native to Japan but I also enjoy teaching music theory very much as I strongly believe understanding of Music Theory can aid your principal instrument playing enormously!
I have been a head of Music Theory Department in a music academy in HK as well as a senior Piano Instructor for the past years. I have previously taught music theory and analysis in HK and UK in both private and group settings for over 13 years. My past students had a 100% passing rate of Gr. 5 theory exam.

I am a Japanese pianist and have been living in Canada, UK, Spain and HK for the last 20 years. Through my musical journey, I was very fortunate to have been always surrounded by knowledgeable and caring teachers, talented fellow musicians and students.

She studied Piano Performance at University of Northwestern, U.S.A, as an undergraduate and earned her Master of Music Education from Boston University. She has been teaching private lessons and been a full-time music teacher for eight years in South Korea, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

Her expertise is in beginner and intermediate piano pedagogy. She has successfully implemented both U.S and UK music education systems and is familiar with various music examination schools such as ABRSM and Suzuki.

She is fluent in both English and Korean.

A former scholar at the Royal College of Music London, sponsored by The Kenneth and Violet Scott Award, I earned a degree in Piano Performance under the tutelage of Nigel Clayton, Peter Jablonski and Ruth Nye. I was also a recipient of Talent Development Scholarship awarded by the Hong Kong Government Scholarship Scheme.

Started learning the piano at the age of 4, I won numerous prizes in different competitions including Asia Piano Open Competition, TOYAMA Asian Youth Music Competition, Inter-School International Performance Challenge and Hong Kong Schools Music Festivals. In 2018, I was also one of the finalists in the Liszt Memorial Prizes Hong Kong International Piano Open Competition.

I have been actively engaged in music teaching since 2013.
