Private lessons in mathematics, English and dance

From 22 £ /h

Whether English, mathematics or dance, each course is personalized, depending on the needs and abilities of my student. The first lesson is always an assessment of the student level and the discussion of the main concentration points, particular problems, expectations etc. to benefit the most from the following course.

For mathematics and English courses, I first explain the general concepts and the theory, after which we work together on the examples. Whenever possible, I try to give students a small homework assignment.

As for the dance, the class starts with the warming up of the body, which depends on the personal predispositions of the pupil-one practices special steps, choreographs, improvises, stretches, etc. As a dancer, I am professionally doing contemporary dance but I mix different styles: I also dance hip-hop and breakdance, I train in ballet to always keep, I have experience in oriental dance , which interests me a lot: I am then at your disposal if it is the choice of style!

Hello! If you can understand this message without having to translate then you are ready for my help! I am from California, and have been living here in Brussels since 2012. I am 44 years old. I speak West Coast (California) English. It's the English you hear in your favorite California movies. I love to help friends who already speak "European street English" while HAVING FUN! Did you know that 70% of learning a language is learned OUTSIDE of a classroom setting? So I propose we go to the park, we cook together, we go on a bike ride, we draw, we play. And of course we will talk a lot. When I hear an error I will correct you in a fun way, writing things for you, with FUN AND REAL examples, with drawings, ALWAYS STAYING 100% in English. That's correct, I will only speak English to you, because as you and I both know, you already speak English, and you have understood everything (or maybe 70%) of everything I just wrote. What you want is to improve or perfect your spoken English (we can work on writing, too). Immersion and fun, West Coast Style. And my university degree? Yes, I have two of them, in Languages and Literature, and I speak 4 fully fluent languages (working on number five currently), but for now I want you to learn English by HAVING FUN! My friends and prior students can tell you how fun it is to learn with me. HOPE WE GET TO PLAY TOGETHER SOON! You can do it! Groups ok.

The best way to learn a language is to practice it, listen to it and read it! This is why, as far as possible, the lessons will be given IN English, in order to train both your ear and to push you to answer/think in English.

A large part of the learning will go through the oral practice of the language: you will be invited to express yourself on various subjects that interest you.

Depending on your interests, we can practice English through different activities: cooking, music, cinema, etc.

Do not hesitate to call on me, if your objective is:
- To acquire a more fluent English / to converse
- Work on your pronunciation/accent
- To rework a written text / train your written expression
- To learn the basics of the language (grammar, spelling, etc.)

I am used to working with children and can adapt to all audiences.
I also offer lessons for the little ones, for a fun initiation with games and small activities (cooking, crafts, walks, drawing, etc.).
I can also address an adult audience seeking to acquire fluent English, a developed vocabulary, and ease in specific contexts.

As a computer science student at the Free University of Brussels and holding a degree in animation, I offer private math and science lessons for primary and secondary school students.
I worked as a tutor for students preparing for the vocational CESS science exam before the Central Examining Board for the municipality of Anderlecht. I prepared and delivered lessons to help candidates understand the material and prepare effectively for the exam.
I also completed internships as a kindergarten teacher and a physical education teacher in secondary school. These experiences taught me how to supervise children and teenagers, how to design appropriate lessons, and how to explain the same concept in different ways.
My approach is based on understanding, practice, and confidence. I begin by identifying the student's difficulties, then we review the necessary fundamentals before progressing through tailored exercises. The student is encouraged to explain their reasoning in order to learn to detect and correct their own errors.
I also use artificial intelligence tools to prepare, when relevant, customized diagrams, illustrations, and visualizations. These resources make certain mathematical or scientific concepts more concrete and easier to visualize. AI here serves as a pedagogical preparation tool: explanations, guidance, and content verification remain entirely my responsibility.
The sessions can be used to:
- to understand or review a chapter;
- solving exercises;
- to prepare for a quiz, an exam;
- correct a previous assessment;
- to make up for lost time;
- to develop a more efficient working method.
I can teach in French, Spanish, or Arabic. I also have a very good level of English.
