About Me

Noé Bénita, a French drummer born in Paris in 1995, joined a class of African percussion at the age of five and discovered the drums a few years later. He joined two conservatories in the Paris area and graduated. There he met his teachers and the contact with them resulted in Noah's interest that has developed and made him sensitive to different musical genres and especially for African-American music.

Education

This young drummer / percussionist never stops feeding his passion for music, especially the desire to transmit by teaching the drums to children and adults in the School of Music Rolle and private lessons at home.

Experience / Qualifications

In 2015, he joined the Jazz program of the University of Music of Lausanne (HEMU). He performs regularly in Switzerland and France with different projects mixing Jazz and Rock with FaKa, Hip-hop with Geneva rapper Eriah and Ticino Sisma, Rock Indé with the Paris group Météo Mirage, Pop with the group Beach boy and traditional music from West Africa with Sol Family.
Within the Erkalium group, he mixes the acoustic sounds of drums and electronic machines to play a mix of Techno and House.

Hi!

I am an accomplished classical pianist and experienced teacher who offers you piano lessons, at all levels from beginner to advanced, for fun or for serious ones (preparation for competitions, auditions, exams, etc.).

I am a doctoral candidate at the University of Montreal (Canada) and am also pursuing a second Master's degree at the HEM in Geneva. The 5 string banjo is an amazing instrument. It's driving trademark sound and it's African roots has contributed to many music traditions, including Country, Bluegrass, Blues, Jazz and world music.

In my class you'll first learn the basics, how to hold and pick and read tablatures. We'll then go through how to play a tune, accompany other instruments and finally, improvise. During the year I'll teach you basic music theory like rhythm, harmony and a bit of ear training to help you develop your understanding and relationship to the instrument.

We'll mainly play Bluegrass Scruggs style at first, then we'll dive into melodic style and sigle string, that will all be useful for playing other kinds of music, like Irish music, Pop, Jazz or Blues. A little more about my background:

A graduate of the Paris Conservatory, I had the chance to work alongside many exciting pianists and teachers, such as Denis Pascal, Pascal Amoyel, Rena Shereshevskaya and in improvised music Paul Lay and Emil Spányi, who were able, throughout my career, to bring me into musical research and maintain this taste for the instrument.

Being attracted by musical creation, as well as composition, I was also able to study harmony, arrangement, music theory and composition at the Rueil-Malmaison conservatory in the Paris region.

Alongside my musical projects as a classical and jazz pianist and musical composition, I devote myself to my passion for educational transmission.
