About Me

My passion for mathematics dates back to my earliest childhood. As a kid, I never stopped counting, everywhere, all the time. Far from diminishing as I grew up, this passion grew stronger. It was therefore quite natural that my choice fell on EPFL, once I had obtained my gymnasium maturity. During my years of university studies, I was able to perfect my knowledge in this field, but also to help many groups of students during assistantship sessions. Once this course was finished, it was in a college in the Lausanne region that I finally put my bag down for almost two months, as a substitute teacher.

Aware that mathematics has a heavy reputation behind it, populating the nights of many people with nightmares and prematurely graying many hairs, I have been striving for several years to show that this subject is in reality much less obscure than so many people don't think so, and that the multiple daily applications that result from it are well worth learning once and for all how to derive this damn function :)

In parallel with these studies, and in order to make my gymnasium studies in Latin fruitful, I have been working for more than six years in the sports editorial staff of a daily newspaper in French-speaking Switzerland. I am therefore also perfectly prepared to provide you with my support for any type of editorial exercise.

The course material is a Google Docs document that I create in which my explanations, possible links, exercises appear. By reading it regularly, progress will be faster. For help with writing:

The objective is above all to acquire effective tools. The student will thus be able to learn to structure his ideas, argue coherently (and convincingly) and enrich his vocabulary. It is essential for me to have written work from the student between each lesson.

For analyzes of oral literary texts:

In order to optimize the time available (and to put ourselves in conditions closest to oral exams), we choose together an extract from a work that the student will have previously prepared before the lesson. This would take around 20 minutes at most, and ideally just a little before the meeting time. If necessary, I have the habit of taking a paragraph at random which would serve as a basis for analyzing a passage.

The other alternative is to make a PV of the course that I send (or that I print). Giving importance to keeping a written record on the one hand to better memorize the topics covered, on the other hand to better assimilate the spelling.
