I am an enthusiastic professional violinist and teacher. I can teach you classical violin, folk songs from Greece and Middle East, as well as your favourite pop tunes and tunes of almost any other music genre! Being well classically trained, I can help you build a solid violin technique and prepare you for giving your best during important music occasions such as exams, auditions, concerts etc. Also, being member of pop - oriental bands with concerts around Belgium, France and Greece, having played with several classical and contemporary music ensembles and orchestras, as well as coming from a family of musicians, my lessons are ideal for students who want to learn to be at ease when they eventually make music with others. :) All pieces can be taught either by ear, music scores or BOTH!! Teaching you basic and/or more advanced music theory to facilitate your violin learning if you don't know yet how to read and write music, can be easily done! My personal experience with music psychology and body movement techniques for musicians have enriched my knowledge and teaching skills. Extra attention is given during the lessons to not only help you build a strong and steadfast technique and develop your music ear, but also to acquire a confident presence and attitude for when you play for others! I have always been passionate about music, I play three instruments, and I recently finished my piano studies at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in the class of Piet Kuijken. Experienced teacher of Oud and oriental Arabic singing for over 11 years, I am Lebanese and currently residing in Germany. I studied for 8 years at the Lebanese National Conservatory. I taught at the Casa Beethoven Academy in Lebanon and gave private lessons. In addition, I was conductor of the Loubnan Assalam oriental orchestra for over 5 years. My recommendation for learning the Oud is to start with the study of notes and musical notation before tackling pieces. Although some students prefer to play songs directly, understanding the basics of musical notation allows for faster progress in the long run. I teach online via Zoom, using software which allows you to see the exact keys I'm playing on my keyboard. My teaching method is to focus on whatever type of music the student loves most, and to build from there. I believe that many people give up their dream of playing an instrument simply because they aren't inspired enough, so my goal is to instil a love for music, whatever that means personally for each individual student. Everyone learns differently and has their own pace and rhythm. I have some students who like to have a regular weekly or biweekly lesson, and others who just get in touch once in a while when they have digested the previous lesson and feel ready to build on it. Whatever the case, I am very flexible and we can figure out what works best for you. A bit about me: Originally honing my skills on the British jazz scene and holding residencies in restaurants and bars around the country, I then went on to tour the world playing on cruise ships, hotels and festivals. I returned to London to complete my master's in jazz piano at the Guildhall School of Music, and during this time performed regularly at Ronnie Scotts, The Vortex and many other venues across the UK. I then spent two years in South America learning about salsa and Cuban music. I now mainly work as a transcriber, writing sheet music for all instruments including full Big Band scores. I have also worked extensively in musical theatre, most recently as musical director for 'Jersey Boys', and on the first US national tour of 'Summer: the Donna Summer Musical'.
