My experience in learning other languages as an adult helps me empathise with my students’ difficulties, and I find that knowledge of other languages’ structures and vocabulary allows me to better guide speakers of those languages through the differences they find with French.
I hold a Master’s degree in Romance Languages from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, with specialisation in French as a foreign language. I also benefited from the Erasmus exchange programme, living for a year in Italy. On my return to Belgium, I then qualified as a secondary school teacher via the ‘agrégation’ route.
