I'm a musician, teacher and DJ from New York City. In the Geneva area teaching kids and adults, from absolute beginners to intermediate and advanced students. We use songs that students like, tailoring classes to the individual student. As well as teaching privately and through Aprentus, I've been a teacher at La Grande Boissière and GEMS Academy in Etoy. Parents and School references available on request. In New York city, I was an adjunct professor teaching for 4 years at Long Island University in Brooklyn. The courses were in music software programs (Reason, Garageband, Ableton). Students learnt to produce and mix their own songs in various styles — hip hop, reggae, house, electro as well as music for animation and film. In addition, I've composed music for television and have a long history of DJing in NY clubs and releasing music, vinyl and digital which I've continued to do since moving to Geneva.

Many of my students take graded exams in either contemporary or classical guitar and students who I prepare for exams regularly achieve distinctions. However if the student does not wish to take graded exams I can simply help them learn their favourite songs as well as teaching key techniques to progress in their preferred genres and styles. I'm Alfredo, I graduated from the Electric Bass Jazz and Modern Music performance course at the Conservatori Superior del Liceu and later graduated from the Master's in Jazz Performance at Codarts University of the Arts. My main teaching philosophy is to teach students to play the music they enjoy. It sounds like a no-brainer but I have had teachers in the past who only showed me songs that they enjoyed or used method books that teach you "Mary Had A Little Lamb" or "Hot Crossed Buns" (and if you like those songs then we can learn those). All that to say, whatever the student's goal on the instrument, I will take them step by step until they reach it. For a beginning musician, the fundamentals of the instrument are given the highest priority: how to tune your instrument, names of all the notes, essential chords, basic strumming, playing in time and understanding basic rhythm. For someone who already plays but needs a little help getting out of the rut, we'll spend time fixing bad technical habits, hammering home the fundamentals, expanding their repertoire, and slowly moving outside of the comfort zone to new horizons. With advanced players, listening (ear training), transcribing, song analysis, exploring advanced theory concepts, and focusing on composition and improvisation are most important. With all levels of students, I make playlists that I update after each lesson they can hear real examples of what we are covering, as well as provide detailed written notes in TAB and standard notation so they can refer to everything we covered and know what to practice. Hello, my name is Tin and I teach double bass, electric bass and music theory. I completed a master's degree in jazz double bass and electric bass at the Graz University of Art and specialize in popular music, jazz and improvisation. In my teaching method, I like to track each student's progress with a personal practice chart and work plan. I like to use exercise apps, books and various tools to further develop individual musicality.
