About Me

Multilingual, Creative, Flexible, Patient, Sociable, Enthusiastic, Dynamic, Hardworking

Originally, I decided to take a Masters in English Literature to teach English in Luxembourg, my hometown. However, now that I have the relevant academic and practical qualifications I want to develop my teaching career here in England. I have been working as a teaching assistant and as a teacher of English and French as foreign languages since 2010 in various schools in both Luxembourg and London. Teaching and studying languages in different countries has given me an opportunity to discover a range of different learning and teaching environments.

I have a CELTA certificate (Pass B) and an MA in English Literature completed at Kingston University London. I also have an MA in Multilingual Communications from the ‘Université Libre de Bruxelles’ in Brussels and a BA in Modern Languages (English/Spanish).

I have taught both English and French as foreign languages. At Language.lu in Luxembourg, I was responsible for establishing the weekly educational programme for the students who usually attended an intensive 1 week course. At Aline Mayrisch high school in Luxembourg, I team-taught English to students aged 15/16 years for an English option class. I established the programme and evaluated the students at the end of the year.

I have studied and speak 5 foreign languages fluently, and therefore understand what it takes to learn a foreign language. I love teaching. I believe I am a patient, creative and hard working person; qualities which I think are important to be a good teacher. I am motivated and reliable and I always do my best to use the skills I have acquired in order to meet the needs of the students I work with.

Louis
Student at ESCP Europe offers courses in Math, Economics, History-Geography and English
Dear, I have been a student at ESCP Europe since September 2014 after two years of preparation at Intégrale-Prépa. I am currently studying on the London campus of my school in West Hampstead and I am looking for a job as a tutor. Involved, patient and organized, I have the right ingredients to be a pleasant and effective teacher and as such my experience in the field is a proof. It has been a year and a half since I have taught classes to students very different in age - 14 to 20 years - their social class and level, and I have always had good results with them, Adaptation and my sense of pedagogy. My Monther tongue is French. I speak English since the age of 4 and my half sister is English by her father, I am practically bilingual myself. I also speak Italian since the age of 13 but do not have a sufficient level to teach it. I am available on weekdays from 4:30 pm on Wednesdays and weekends from 2 pm, except exceptions, and I have the skills to teach college, high school, and possibly adult students the following subjects: - Mathematics - Economy and SES - English - English - History and Geography - General culture and philosophy I am available to meet you to detail my motivations if necessary, and to expose my skills.

Elise
French private lessons by university graduate in Letters
French private lessons are for students wishing: - consolidate their bases in grammar, othograph - improve their language skills (allophone students) - improve their speaking skills (conversation classes) -profect the written expression - ECR exams - prepare for the written examinations at the end of the studies (maturity, certificate of completion) - help with the writing of works of maturity (or other works of end of studies), of dissertation - work on argumentative texts - acquire a method to analyze literary texts - fill gaps - improve their spelling - prepare for oral exams (maturity, compulsory leaving certificates) - learn how to perform bibliographic research For help with writing: the goal is above all to acquire effective tools. Students will learn how to structure their ideas, argue in a coherent (and convincing) way and enrich their vocabulary. For the corrections of end of studies work: so that the meeting with the student is at the most profitable, I ask him to send me his writings before the meeting. Apart from my presence with the student, any course involves a preparation time before and after the lesson, including the work that I correct. My goal is to design an individualized course, so I take the time to write detailed comments on corrected work or tips to ensure maximum success for everyone. For example, an editorial correction can easily be the subject of a detailed commentary of 4 typewritten pages. For adults (FLE): In order to optimally prepare the first ones, I take the initiative to inform myself in advance of their objectives / expectations. Whether to practice speaking in everyday life, the professional world or to practice oral presentations, I prepare either PPT or technical sheets in advance that I send by mail ( after booking on the website). The other alternative is to make a PV of the course that I send (or that I print). Giving importance to keeping a written record on the one hand to better memorize the topics covered, on the other hand to better assimilate the spelling. Of a general nature, a concrete situation that responds to the learner's needs is the starting point. From this situation, I address the essential grammatical points.

I am passionate about the English language, and I lived a year in the United States. I also have almost two years of experience teaching English. I particularly like to focus on the conversation, because it allows you to review grammar and vocabulary in depth. I also give regular homework, usually a small text to write, to practice the themes seen in class. In addition, I help my brother to pass his English exams every year!
