I am a qualified English teacher originally from Wales in the UK. I hold a CELTA as well as a Bachelor and Masters degree. I originally trained as an opera singer and I enjoy listening and playing music, watching films, baking, running and yoga. I like to bring elements of mine and my student's hobbies into the lesson because the improvements tend to be greater when everyone is enjoying themselves. I'm a reliable and kind person, and I like to help people. I have a wealth of teaching experience that ranges from roles such as Learning Support Worker to Singing Teacher and Singing Workshop Leader to English Teacher and also Head of English. I have worked with a wide age range of students and feel comfortable assisting those with extra needs. I have also been a language student myself when I was learning German and Italian. I have great empathy with the challenges of learning a language and how personal they can be. I aim to make lessons fun and tailored to the students interests and needs and I am very excited to have the opportunity to help people improve their English skills.

I will be teaching english and maths for children from year 1 to year 11. I am already working as a private tutor and helping children prepare for SATs, 11+ exams etc. I will help you become better at your studies with my knowledge and exam tips. I also have my own materials to teach if needed. We will learn in a fun way so that the child would not be bored.

Able to provide support in A-Level Psychology and English Literature. My experience: I've got extensive experience supporting others in an academic and non-academic setting. I have six years’ experience tutoring students aged 4 - 16 years old. I worked with students on their work assignments as well as setting extra work to help students reach the next level in their potential. I aided them in their transition to university by creating a safe space for them to approach me with their academic queries and social anxieties. I have excellent interpersonal skills that allowed me to build productive relationships with my students wherein they felt comfortable approaching me when in crisis. I am currently a Recovery Worker, providing support to homeless individuals in London. I specialise in providing person-centred, personalised support to entrenched rough sleepers with particularly high and complex physical, mental and substance misuse support needs. I have an outstanding record of ensuring my clients stay off the street and move along in their recovery process. This is done by having a keen eye for assessing individuals, even those who are difficult to engage and creating realistic and productive action plans. Through my dedication to belief in uplifting others and identifying a shortfall in the care provided to my most vulnerable clients, I created a successful partnership with the Premier League’s Chelsea Football Club to provide one-to-one health and fitness support to homeless people in London. Moreover, borne from a drive to give back to my local community while at University, I organised, planned and executed a school-based programme. I partnered with Age Exchange, a charity dedicated to reducing loneliness in society's most vulnerable populations, to design a ten-week programme. I used cutting edge reminiscence arts and tactile objects to help rejuvenate the memories of those with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. I liaised with local schools and care homes to link elderly individuals with local schools. Through this, I developed my ability to communicate efficiently and effectively online by creating a weekly newsletter for my volunteers, running a community page and keeping clear and open channels of communication with all parties. The programme was a tremendous success, earning the Queen's Award for Outstanding Voluntary Service which was presented by HRH Princess Anne. Furthermore, the Mayor of Runnymede came to visit, and it was featured in the local news. For my dedication to the voluntary service, I received a Gold Passport Award from Royal Holloway, University of London. I believe I am the excellent candidate to help students fulfil their potential. I have excellent time management skills as evidenced by my exemplary community outreach work while studying towards a Bachelor of Science degree. Contrary to popular belief, learning Latin is not like learning the phone book by heart. I offer you Latin lessons that are unlike any other. There are two types of courses. Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches: If you take the train back and forth every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options: 1) Learn the schedules by heart. 2) Note that the train arrives every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m. In school pedagogy, in study notebooks and in ordinary courses, it is the first approach which is adopted - in the courses that I offer you, it is the second because it is more economical and faster. My offer is aimed at both students and adults who want to learn the Latin language or deepen their knowledge without time-consuming detours through the insanities of school methods which do not produce results. Learning is easy but unlearning what has become a bad habit is extremely difficult. All the more important it is to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. With my tailor-made teaching you will accelerate your learning in a positive state of mind. I offer individual or group Latin lessons (2 to 5 people). The methods are based on cognitive sciences and in particular historical linguistics. What will not be the subject of the course: learn lists of verbs; learn lists of nouns with their gender; learn words with their translations; memory card game; doing school exercises; follow the program in a notebook; impose French grammar on the Latin language. What matters to me in particular: motivate my student and give him a learning rhythm; encourage creativity; make friends with language; letters and their sounds strengthen your memory by working on the phonological loop; teach construction plans instead of having people learn sentences by heart; explain how the language works to make my student independent as quickly as possible; breaking preconceived ideas such as the gammatical gender would have a link with the biological gender, the accusative would be a direct complement and the dative an indirect complement, the verbs would be irregular, the declension would be random and therefore to be learned with each verb... ; place practice at the center and articulate grammar around practice.
