Ableton Live is a powerful production tool used by some of the top producers in the world, but the opportunity to learn how to compose using it is something very few producers learn. This class focusses on understanding and implementing various production techniques using Ableton and could even help you produce like your favourite artist! Prior knowledge of music/instruments is helpful but not necessary.

With six years of self taught production and industry knowledge under my belt, I've been fortunate enough to play clubs, festivals, and international shows with my music, and have released music on a wide expanse of award winning electronic labels, such as Low Down Deep, Billegal Beats, Kingdom Audio, in the Lab Recordings, and more. This course is above all there to make you want to play bass, let it be fun! It will be based on the practice of the instrument, on the understanding and the role of the bass. The theory will be based on the progress of the practice. Step by step, practice and theory will thus be complementary, and will necessarily be useful! For many people improvisation is a scary word and having to improvise in a group or band is an alarming prospect. However, this really does not need to be the case. As long as you have a basic knowledge of how to play your instrument you will be able to improvise. Once you know the principle of how chords are formed you will soon be improvising with ease. If you play a keyboard instrument you will be able to improvise your own pieces and be able to entertain your friends at a moments notice. On the other hand if you play in a band or a group you will be well equipped to do a real 'jam' session. Whether you play a single line instrument (flute, saxophone, trumpet, violin etc.) or keyboard instruments, this class is for you.

Also, at the class we are going to hear music of different composers and discuss it and then write our own music. This course is for all levels, you can start from the beginning or improve your existing knowledge in Composition.

For over 10 years I've tutored people of all ages and abilities in different musical fields. All from classical music to mixing your own pieces and songs. I am able to teach theory, composition and playing music from young children to adult syllabus study. I have Music and Music Technology qualifications and have been playing and writing music the majority of my life. Since 2021 I have been a private bass tutor, teaching face to face and online. I can help you build a strong foundation for any musical genre. Most of my students pursue bass as a hobby or a creative outlet, writing songs or performing in bands. I have also helped players prepare for Trinity Rock & Pop or GCSE exams. I provide written notes and video material and can help you organize your practice time. I set aside 30 minutes of prep time per lesson, which can also be used to transcribe and film tutorials for songs of your choice. I encourage all my students to apply the skills they learn in their own personal way. You will get enjoy what you learn very soon. Your lessons will be simple and practical, with a healthy mix of technique, knowledge and repertoire, along with the basic music theory you need to get by.
