About Me
I am a friendly, enthusiastic and creative teacher who loves to work with students of all ages. I believe learning should be fun and lessons should be tailored to what each individual student needs. Due to my background in theatre, my classes are engaging and fun. I have a kind, caring approach to all my students and like to create an exciting and open atmosphere in my classroom.
I have five years of teaching and tutoring experience ranging from young children to adults. I was a homeroom teacher at an International Bilingual school for two years in Hanoi in Vietnam where I taught the UK Cambridge curriculum to Grade 4 and then moved with my class up to Grade 5 because I loved teaching them so much. I won teacher of the year award for the Academic Year 2021-2022. I have worked as an ESL teacher in secondary schools (with students from aged 12-16) and enjoy teaching speaking, writing, reading and listening. I also have experience working with learners online from ages six to adults through working with Amazing Talker where I designed my own lessons, and the Palfish and iTutor platforms.
I am a real bookworm, a keen cook and do lots of yoga. I have visited 45 countries to date and love learning about different cultures; I spent the past five years living in Hanoi in Vietnam and travelling around Asia. I have a cat called Porridge (who comes from Hanoi!).
