Artist Development: James is an LA acting and vocal coach with over 30 years private and university, community college and performing arts high school teaching experience. As an artist developer he prepares talented actors and musical theatre vocalists for careers in the arts. Lessons are available both online and at his studio in Long Beach, CA. Lesson durations offered are: 30, 45, 60, 90 and 120 minutes weekly. James is on faculty at University of West London and offers their accredited acting and musical theatre vocal grade programs. James also teaches to actors: method, Shakespeare/classical, improv, dialects, voiceover, scene study.
Those with a musical theatre vocal emphasis will also study music theory and ear training. James holds Fellowship (UWL 2016) and MM and BM degrees (CSUF, 95, and 92).

Artist Development; James is an internationally noted acting, voiceover, dialect, musical theatre, vocal, keyboard, music comp and theory coach with over 30 years teaching experience both privately and for university, community college and high school. James is currently on faculty at University of West London: London College of Music and offers accredited grade programs in: acting, musical theatre, voice, keyboard, theory, composition and musicology. Lessons are available at his studio in Long Beach, CA or ia online. James is a noted concert pianist and an award winning recording artist. James is a published musicologist/author, playwright and vegan plant-based activist.

Artist Development : James is an internationally celebrated music composition, music theory, songwriting coach with over 30 years teaching experience. He teaches all genres of music theory/ear training includes classical applied, 4 part choral, counterpoint, modality, serial, pop/jazz and charts, orchestration, arranging, transposition, historical musical period composition and more. James is currently on faculty at London College of Music and offer internationally accredited grade programs in the following music genres: theory, pop/jazz theory, music composition, musicology, ethnomusicology, voice, piano, musical theatre and violin. Lessons are available in 30, 45, 60, 90 and 120 minute durations weekly. Either at James's studio in Long Beach CA or via online (preferably facebook video messaging, or skype)

James of Artist Development is an internationally recognized classical and jazz pianist, harpsichordist and recording artist. He is noted for his award winning Cocktail Piano Hour series of albums that have been featured on international radio podcasts including Cocktail Nation, Evenings At the Penthouse, The Martini Hour, and K-Jazz.

As a Jazz pianist performance credits include: Disneyland (Anaheim, CA), The Hollywood Bowl (Hollywood, CA), Ritz Carlton Resort and Spa (Laguna Niguel, CA), The Sky Room at the Breakers (Long Beach, CA), The Westin Bonaventure (LA, CA), Ye Olde Pink (Savannah, GA), Ronnie Scott's (London, UK), Cinegrill (Hollywood, CA), Birdland (NY, NY)

Orchestral Guest Appearances include: Pacific Symphony, CSUF Symphony, OCC Symphony, San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, Long Beach Symphony, Honolulu Symphony

James debuted with the Pacific Symphony at age 12 playing George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue and toured with the Young Artist Series. In his youth James won international piano competitions, and performed President Reagan.

James received a Fellowship from University of West London: London College of Music, and MM and BM degrees with the keyboard areas highest honors from CSUF (95, 92). Piano professors James studied with include: Dr. Robert Watson, Dr. Eduardo Delgado, Dr. Lucinda Carver, Dr. Rita Fussek, Dr. John Perry, Joanna Hodges, Adrienne Iagjian and Dolores. James has studied harpsichord with: Dr. Malcolm Hamilton, Dr. Robert Watson and Dr. Burton Carson. James has studied organ with: Dr. Esther Jones, Phillip Riddick.


James has taught piano since 1985 privately and at university, community college and performing arts high schools.

James is also an artist developer preparing talented pianists for careers in the arts. Lessons include theory and ear training and James teaches all genres of piano.
