I have been in the world of music since my early teens and have gathered experience with both violin and viola, even though I ended especializing in the latter, performing but also teaching children and adults. My several years of university studies have given me a functional and integral knowledge of Music Theory. Regarding Chamber Music, which is my life passion, I have studied and performed in a wide variety of contexts and places in Europe and America. In the Netherlands, I received my Master's Degree in Viola at the Maastricht Conservatory.

Hello! My name is Ana, I am 32 years old and I am a violin teacher with 10+ years of teaching experience working with children and adults, specializing in creating a supportive environment for beginners and advanced players. I am based in Maastricht and I teach at my violin studio in Scharn.

My teaching focuses on developing solid technique and musicality in a friendly and encouraging environment. I help students build a strong foundation and enjoy music-making. Over the years I have developed my own teaching method which includes elements from ABRSM, Trinity, Suzuki and Galamian methods, as well as covers standard violin repertoire. This makes learning structured and fun. For optimal development, I organize frequent lessons with the piano accompanist as well as a two class concerts per year in various locations in Maastricht, where everybody is welcome to join and support! Because I am always fully committed to my students, I like to study each case individually and prepare for each lesson beforehand.

A bit about my teaching background: both my parents are violin teachers, so this is my world since I can remember. As soon as I started conservatory in London I started teaching privately and in a music school while I was studying performance and music pedagogy. I am proud to have very high-level students that have pursued a career in music and have become exceptional violinists.

I currently divide my time between teaching violin and playing as Co-Principal second violin at Philharmonie Zuidnederland, as well as freelancing in other orchestras like Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonisch Orkest and Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest. I gained my Bachelor's Degree from the Royal College of Music in London with a specialization in teaching and a Master's Degree from Musikhochschule Lübeck. I was an academist at the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in 2017/2018.

I'm a critically acclaimed pianist from Denmark, with studies from The Royal Danish Academy of Music, Copenhagen and Rimsky Korsakov Conservatory, St Petersburg, now working with professor Igor Roma at the Maastricht Conservatorium.
I have received prizes in national and international competitions, and received funding from bigger Danish foundations.

Playing the violin might sound difficult. Being honest, it can be sometimes tricky, especially if you don't find the method which fits you the best :).
I use Suzuki method for teaching the violin. Suzuki believes that everyone can learn music in the right environment.
It doesn't matter how old you are, or if you have any background in music or not, I will make a tailor-made program for you based on your needs and level. More important, I will make sure that you enjoy the learning process, and you are having fun!

In the lessons, we will be focusing on setting or developing all the required skills for the students to be able to perform independently, understand the musical language, and explore their own sound. Focusing on posture, hand coordination, rhythm, ear training, reading scores, and improvisation. So far my musical exposure in many different genres allows me to create a lesson that is adapted to the specific needs of my students. This class fits students of different age groups and playing levels. From absolute beginners about to make their first (musical) steps to more advanced players with more precise goals.

The approach is individual and we will discuss the desired goals in advance and build the learning process around those. Some topics that are usually covered are - rhythm guitar, being able to accompany yourself while singing (in different styles and techniques), lead guitar, improvisation (from basics to advanced), general knowledge of the fretboard and technique.

I have always loved playing the piano since i was a little girl of 5 I was interested in how the keys worked and I taught myself to play on any piano that i could find. Knowing that i had talent my parents enrolled me into a piano class where my teacher taught me the world of music. I enrolled with the Trinity college of Music London where i got my certificate. I loved every bit of it and today i want to share that joy with others while they develop their music talent.

A tenured violinist at the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège and a graduate of the Geneva University of Music (Bachelor), the Amsterdam Conservatory (Master) and the IMEP in Namur (Master in Pedagogy), I have 10 years of teaching experience. Saxophone lessons:

Mathias' lessons are for both beginners and advanced students. The lessons are based on the student's desire to learn and be inspired, and it is important for him to be able to help develop and stimulate this desire.

Selected focus points in the lessons are:
- Sound and equality
Focus on uniform quality throughout the register and feeling that you have control and decide for yourself over the instrument.

- Ear training
Particularly the ability to perceive, retain and reproduce musical structures. This is trained with Mathias through simple and effective principles.

In Mathias' lessons, you are provided with various exercises that strengthen embouchure, breathing technique and your understanding of harmony and improvisation.

He places great emphasis on the fact that the student is not in an exam, but in a work process, and that the student's wishes and motivation are at the center.
