About Me

Marcus graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), majoring in Master of Divinity (Jazz music Theology). He has taught guitar for over 15 years, providing individual and group lessons.

His passion for teaching students led him to establish Music In Parkland Production in 2008. The Production aims to provide the public with Classical, Pop, and Jazz guitar music lessons, setting up a platform for students and teachers to have performance opportunities.

Nathan has been playing Guitar and studying Music for over 15 years, from Primary School right through to the current day in University. Beginning just under a year ago, Nathan has thoroughly enjoyed passing on his enthusiasm and passion for Guitar and Music alike through tutoring. Nathan has several qualifications in Music, including GCSE, A Level and First Class honours in Musical Arts (BA) and, starting with a Masters, he hopes to add to these qualifications in the future. Nathan’s teaching style revolves around his students and therefore adapts to the different students he is teaching, considering their skill level, age and personality when approaching each lesson. Alongside teaching, Nathan is hugely passionate about playing in his Function Band, recording and mixing songs and of course listening to music almost none stop.

Nathan teaches Guitar from beginners to intermediate level players and teaches Music Theory up to grade 5 of all ages. Nathan’s lessons include breaking down the fundamentals of both guitar ad theory, from posture, fingering technique, scales, arpeggios, chords, rhythm, melody and anything else the student wishes to learn. He will teach any exam boards requested, preparing his students for their respective exams by breaking down each technical component previously mentioned with specific focus given to each section of the exam. Whether the student wishes to focus on melody, rhythm, chords or just playing their favourite band’s songs, he will devote all his energy to providing the required tutoring in helping his students fulfil these wishes, whilst enjoying themselves in the process.

Nathan will give his all to teaching as many genres as he possibly can, although has vast experience in classical and pop music, particularly Funk, Rock and Jazz. His first lesson with any student will be relaxed, with the aim of figuring out the students skill level and what they wish to achieve through their lessons. The student simply needs to let Nathan know their priorities in terms of what they wish to learn and their enthusiasm in achieving this. It is common for Nathan to prepare warm-up exercises for his students, such as stretching exercises for the wrists and hands, along with exercises to develop the technique of each hand, for example finger/plectrum exercises and chromatic scales.

Jim has taught in Primary schools Secondary schools, A level colleges for over 20 years and has managed instore guitar lessons for the largest music retailer in the UK for the same time Period.

He personally prepares at least two full exam days, with his school and private students, for either LCM or RSL yearly. With candidates entering exams from grade 1 to grade 8ups and 1-1

The first time I saw the guitar that's how I felt but also I was at a loss what the various parts that form the instrument were, what exactly are they for and what do they do.

Many guitar fans are out there, some dreaming about playing the guitar but who seem at sea too as to where to start and how to go about it. For many the shape and the decorations on the guitar body is a great puzzle that needs answers.

In this introductory class my aim is to get you to derive more fun from, and deeper interest in the guitar as your favourite musical instrument.

In the end you will be fully enabled to give a good account of your guitar body parts both to yourself and to other curious outsiders so to speak. It should turn your learning to play the guitar proper more of a fun and enjoyable experience as any guitar student who come under my tutelage should testify.

Josh has been teaching Guitar and Music Theory for 2 years to a range of different ages and abilities. By creating individually tailored lessons for each student, Josh focusses on personal interests and goals in order to keep sessions interesting and fun. However, whilst doing this, focus is maintained on the areas of those interests which will help with kickstarting their progression!

A typical lesson will consist of working on a song, technique, theory , or all of them combined. From this, students will get to keep their worksheets, leaving plenty of resources for individual practise!

Josh has been working as a musician for several years, gigging, teaching, and composing professionally. Alongside this, he graduated from LIPA with a First Class Honours in Music. Josh also possesses music theory knowledge up to ABRSM Grade 5.

As a session musician, Josh covers a large range of genres regularly and can cater to many different interests for his students. However, the genres of Rock, Jazz, Funk, and Soul are his preferred styles.

Last but not least, I have participated in many groups and toured the UK and Europe. I recently composed and released an album and I am currently writing new material.

Hello! My name is Jen and I am a session guitar and bass guitar player with over 10 years of professional experience. I have performed in a wide variety of bands, playing genres such as pop, rock, soul, jazz and folk, and using techniques like finger-style, slap, palm muting and picking.

It is so important for people of all ages to learn new skills and discover methods of self expression - playing an instrument can be a gateway to enhancing children's development and future life skills. This is why I am so enthusiastic about teaching music to kids but also to anyone wanting to learn. I will listen to their needs and goals and personalise the process for each individual ensuring they get the most out of these sessions.

Graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music, Edgar is a Bassist/Guitarist based in Manchester. He has 4 years of teaching experience with a wide range of experience levels, whether a complete beginner, more intermediate, preparing for exams or just want to learn for fun. He has taught up to age 70, meaning it is never too late to start learning. Edgar’s experience in teaching adults means that he is well aware of the difficulties with balancing learning a new skill with working full-time, so he makes sure to take each individual student’s personal circumstances and work schedule into account when organising lessons.

With 12 years of experience of being an official member in 11 bands as well as experience in various “one-off” band settings, the main genres that Edgar has the most experience in include:
