English conversation with a Cambridge University graduate
From 21 £ /h
I take an immersive approach, with conversation the medium for teaching grammar. This keeps my lessons light-hearted and fun, without grammar and syntax becoming a chore. My language degree from Cambridge University has helped me understand and appreciate the English language all the more. We pick a theme at each class and the conversation itself is an organic process (as conversations are). Homework would consist of reading around a topic in English in preparation for the next class. This approach suits everyone, from a child to an adult.

About Me
I am a young recent Cambridge graduate and a passionate teacher who likes to build a conversational but thorough approach to learning English. I like to cater towards the student's interests to create and enjoyable atmosphere. Together we establish a theme for each class which initiates the conversation -- perhaps ranging from British/American current affairs to English-speaking films, for example. Through the conversation, grammar will be picked up on and discussed too. All I ask is that the student does a little English reading in preparation for each class and goes through the notes made from the previous class. Overall, my classes are relaxed but comprehensive and can be adjusted to students of many ages and levels of English.
Education
I have a recent Cambridge University degree in Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic studies with a particular emphasis on Celtic languages. As a result, I have a good understanding of the structure, syntax and grammar of language. I also completed an Art Foundation from Falmouth University.
Experience / Qualifications
I am a tutor as part of the English organisation 'Tutorful'. I am also a member of 'Babylangues'. I have had experience teaching the violin which means I am familiar with more practical, hands-on learning too.
