About Me

I am a Belgian guitarist, composer and performer.
Basically, my musical compositions have taken root through Flamenco music and art, but they are also influenced by Gypsy Jazz, Jazz, many traditional music from around the world, classical music, etc.

Education

I started from a self-taught learning followed by a basic learning in classical guitar.
I discovered Flamenco which led me to take my first steps in this style with Oli Cima and Antonio Segura, in Belgium.
I continued my musical apprenticeship at the Jazz studio in Antwerp as well as the Flamenco guitar in Granada and Seville.
Alongside my learning path, I developed research and musical composition.

I have been a guitar teacher for over 20 years, giving private lessons, teaching at music schools (Kraainem, Waterloo, Enghien), and leading workshops (AKDT). I started playing guitar 30 years ago and have never stopped. I've explored all styles: from classical to pop songs, then electric guitar: blues, rock, and jazz (with Frankie Rose). Later, I developed my skills in flamenco (with Karim Baggili), Brazilian music (with Osman Martins), Gypsy music, and Eastern European music (with Tcha Limberger). I am also well-versed in Gypsy jazz. Therefore, I can teach all levels and styles. I teach music theory alongside the practical exercises so that the material is absorbed naturally. Graduated in singing, pop singing and computer music at the IMEP (Royal Higher Institute of Music and Education), I teach beginners, amateurs, as well as children, especially in a non-profit organization in the Namur region.

As a first step, it is essential to put the student at ease and to understand what his desires are in order to be able to help him to develop musically as much as possible.

For singing, I suggest starting the lesson with a vocal warm-up and continuing with a song of your choice. Depending on availability, it is possible to use a soundtrack, but if a score or a chord chart exists, I can also accompany you on the piano. My teaching method consists of putting practice before theory. In academia, the opposite approach always seemed flawed to me.
