I have been teaching Greek and Latin to students of secondary education successfully for the last twenty years. I have attained Bachelor Classical Greek and Latin Language and Literature, in National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In addition, I have gained Master (Ma) in Pedagogical Psychology and Educational Act in Harokopio University of Athens.
I am really enthusiastic and eager to help young students and the institution to achieve their goals. Also, I am a very reliable, communicative and sociable person, willing to co operate with multicultural people. This class is for foreigners living in Athens, Greece, that want to learn the basics (and more) of the Greek language for various reasons like business, curiosity to explore the greek language, communicating better with loved ones etc.. You will learn how to understand, listen, read and speak this complicated yet interesting and historic language. I focus a lot on the greek pronunciation and grammar, since those are the sections most foreigners struggle with.
Along with the language, you will also learn many ancient greek words, because the modern greek language derives from the ancient greek and the grammar is closely related to it. Last but not least, you will be teached some things about the greek culture and history and if asked, you could learn about greek urban dictionary.
I started gaining experience by volunteeringly teaching it to my foreign friends and to refugees since I was 16 years old. Moreover, the fact that I took many language classes growing up ( french, japanese, spanish, english), and still do, helped me learn new patterns from my teachers and apply them in my classes.

I am a native Greek speaker and teacher of Modern Greek Language to foreign/immigrant/refugee adults and children. I provide N.G.O. ANKAA Project with my tutoring services and, also, I teach Greek language in private lessons near the metro stations "Syntagma", "Evangelismos", "Monastiraki", "Panepistimio" and "Victoria", as well as in Pangrati, Kaisariani, Vyronas and Kypseli. I am bilingual, Greek and French. 30 years of experience as a teacher, I give French lessons at all levels: DELF, DALF, SORBONNE, CCIP and CNED. On webcam in a studious atmosphere, I offer all electronic material free of charge on word and PDF pages. Specializing in both literary and economic texts, I take care of beginners as well as advanced people who want to progress in French. It is the same for all levels in Greek. Graduated from the University of Sorbonne IV Paris, I also work on corrections of memoirs, comments and translations. MY METHODOLOGY Expert for beginners, since I have worked a lot on my "beginners" method which is based on my own experience in collaboration with specialist writers from CLE international and so we proceed in stages. My methodology for other levels includes a variety of documents + books from major publishing houses, authentic sound documents, grammar exercises, animated dialogues, role plays with the learner, phonetics exercises, morphosyntax, analyzes of press articles or magazines from the same day of the real news and thus develop the side of French civilization and culture too much demanded for the DELF, DALF, SORBONNE exams. On webcam I share my screen, I write most of the terms and I send them after the lesson in pdf on the email of the student. The student will be able to print my notes. I also use specialized methods for English speakers. My lesson is not limited to an hour of 60 minutes because I send you throughout the week videos, magazines of your interest: arts, fashion, politics, history, health etc.

Modern Greek is a difficult language to learn, nevertheless it will surely enrich your world. It takes years of dedication to master it. Learning Greek in Greece is very helpful, as it is a difficult language to learn and in Greece you can practice it directly in your daily activities.

With Greek knowledge you will be able to travel all over Greece and Cyprus while communicating with the people you meet in their mother tongue. Learning modern Greek gives you understanding in ancient Greek as well, and a lot of international words that have an ancient Greek root.

A total beginner typically needs 3-4 years of 2-hour weekly lessons to be able to communicate on an intermediate level of B1.
Trips to Greece and contact with people that speak the language help greatly to gain a quicker pace of learning.

I typically suggest a graded textbook (for communicative or business purposes), but also provide the learner with handouts, in order to offer an authentic language experience. I provide and suggest extra educational material for self-study.
I prepare students for a Greek language certificate (all levels) or for the Greek citizenship test that is required for the residence permit.
