Art in public spaces
This workshop is about getting to know a new place and portraying it artistically.
From 51.8 £ /h
To do this, we stay at the location, we explore it, what do we notice? Who uses it and how? Are there strange objects or situations that irritate me here?
How can I capture or portray this place artistically?
The medium can be freely chosen; it can be a photograph or series, a painting, a drawing, a map, a film or something else. It can be a sketch for a larger project or a test system.
Examples of artworks are shown as input, and there are collegial sessions where the participants discuss their designs and get feedback. I support the participants throughout the entire process.
The course is structured in such a way that we alternate between exploring the site and working time in the studio.

About Me
*1987 Vera often works in artist teams or collectives. She often creates site-, theme- and context-specific works. Among other things, pursues an artistic practice in which she documents inconspicuous situations in everyday life, thereby creating a sprawling video archive. In the hope of being able to better store and collect these moments, captures those "unimportant" moments with her mobile phone camera. Depending on the collaboration and context, this video archive is accessed and new works are created from it. With the same attention, has recently been roaming YouTube and using this source to archive absurd moments. then creates new compositions from these YouTube snippets.

If you enjoy bright colors and want to learn to paint abstractly with liquid watercolor paint, this workshop is for you.
At the beginning of the painting session we will become familiar with the wet-on-wet technique. We will learn to let the chance of the colors running into each other guide us. In this workshop you will learn to find the balance between chance and gentle brush control. After a short drying time, the fine lines are then applied with fine brushes.
Watercolor painting as a meditation technique:
Simply starting and working with your hands is a self-healing process, something I rediscovered especially during the Corona crisis. Watercolor painting is relaxing and has a meditative effect, it slows you down and when you wake up from the trance you have created a finished watercolor.
What you get:
• All necessary materials such as watercolor paper, paints and brushes • Individual support and templates for inspiration
• Everything that is created in the workshop
• Hopefully a new passion
What else you should know:
• If you have your own liquid watercolors and paper or brushes, please bring them with you • The workshop can be held in English or German

Fermentation is a natural process in which microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi colonize food and convert the sugar and starch contained in it into acid, which preserves the food. Fermentation is a simple process that can be carried out by anyone, anywhere, using the simplest of means.
