Learn from a pro who's played Wembley Stadium, toured Europe, and worked with West End stars!

I'm Chris - a London-based multi-instrumentalist with years of real-world experience as a performer, musical director, and bandleader. Since 2015, I’ve taught over 100 students - from 6-year-old beginners to seasoned musicians - helping them grow their skills, boost their confidence, and connect more deeply with the music they love.

I’ve played bass for 80s legends Talk Talk, bass and keyboards for renowned tribute band Guns 2 Roses on national and European tours, been a musical supervisor and musical director for national theatre productions, and shared stages with cast members from Les Misérables, Book of Mormon, Dear Evan Hansen, Mamma Mia, and more. I've performed everywhere from intimate acoustic venues to the Royal Festival Hall and even Wembley Stadium.

My teaching style is practical, flexible, and student-led. I teach both online and in person from my West London studio, working with people of all ages and abilities. Whether you’re looking to jam with friends, write your own music, get ready for a recording session, or just play for your own enjoyment, I’ll help you build the skills you need, and enjoy the process as much as the result.

I currently offer lessons in:
🎹 Piano and keyboards
🎸 Acoustic and electric guitar
🎸 Bass guitar
📖 Music theory (from the basics to advanced harmony and analysis)
🎓 Support for GCSE and A-Level music students

I believe lessons should feel creative, inspiring, and genuinely useful - not just a box to tick. I bring patience, adaptability, and a deep understanding of both music and musicians to every session, helping students unlock their potential on their own terms.

About Me
I'm Chris - a London-based multi-instrumentalist, touring musician, musical director, and session player with extensive experience across live performance, theatre, and studio work.

My career has taken me to some of the UK and Europe’s most iconic venues, including Wembley Stadium, the Royal Festival Hall, and Limburghal Genk. I’ve worked with cast members from Les Misérables, Mamma Mia, Dear Evan Hansen, and Jersey Boys, and held musical director and supervisor roles for national theatre productions. My performance credits range from high-profile tours to intimate acoustic shows, with a reputation for reliability, adaptability, and musical sensitivity.

As a performer, I specialise in bass (fretted, fretless, upright, and synth), keyboards, piano, and guitar. I’ve toured internationally as bassist and keyboardist for Guns 2 Roses, one of the UK’s leading tribute acts, and performed live on bass for 80s icons Talk Talk. I also work regularly with original artists across a wide range of genres, including Coma Rossi, Fran Lusty, and Kingsley Beat.

My work as a musical director and bandleader includes building and leading ensembles for touring productions, function bands, and theatre shows. I’ve worked with several of the UK’s top agencies, often stepping into complex projects on short notice and delivering to a consistently high standard.

Alongside my performance career, I’ve been teaching since 2015, offering private lessons in piano, guitar, bass, and music theory. I’ve taught over 100 students of all ages and abilities, focusing on practical, tailored instruction informed by real-world experience. My aim is to help students develop strong musicianship, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the music they love, whether they’re playing for enjoyment or pursuing it professionally.

Audio recording
if done in right manner and with right mic-ing techniques will not depend merely on post production for it's enhancement. This consists of closed mic-ing and open mic-ing, where to use different aspects and how to apply them. For example using small diaphragm microphones for snare and larger ones for vocals.

Piano
It is the best tuned instrument that there is in the whole library. So, learning piano not only helps you to just play piano better but you can also do better in vocals, guitar, flute and other instruments. It's a go for anyone who is fond of music and wants to learn a instrument.

Music composition
This module aims to develop the students’ compositional ability using a combination of key musical understanding and the practical use of music creation software. Students will have the opportunity to investigate technical and stylistic conventions across a range of contemporary western popular music genres and to study key elements such as chord progressions, structure, harmony and melody, to develop their confidence and own abilities in composition.

These sessions will explore musical composition techniques used in popular and contemporary music. The focus will be on deconstructing different works, exploring what their musical elements are and investigating what commonality these have across the boundaries of genre or instrumentation. Students will have experience of composing original musical elements and arranging these elements into complete compositions.

I have been teaching music and guitar for decades, privately and in music schools, and my approach starts with the student and his needs. In my experience those needs, together with goals and expectations, change with time and I can help my students determine what they want to achieve and how to best get there. I also find that there isn’t one way that works for everybody and I enjoy creating space for students to explore what music and the instrument mean for them.
Please be aware that I am a working musician and in order to support my student while I do the profession, a degree of flexibility on times and schedule might be needed

Hello! I’m Francesco but all my students call me Frankie.
I’ve been playing drums and guitar since I was 15 years old living in Venezuela. I continued my studies in an American college for a year, to then decide to get my bachelors degree in Italy; a school called MAEurope (or currently Music Academy), affiliated with Middlesex, ACM and LAMA. After getting my B.A. Degree I moved to London where I continued to teach with a couple of agencies and play as a session musician for a couple of acts.
I’ve been teaching since I was 22 years old in the same school I was getting my B.A. Degree: MAEurope. My first class ever were a group of 6-years old kids; lucky me ha? Well, they were great! The main challenge of having such a young age class was to keep them entertained and not loose focus. This situation gave me the tools to create my own way of teaching which is usually laid back, fun and not with a “school” approach towards the student. The kids don’t even realize they are learning until they actually get home and know how to play the instrument! Especially with young students. it is important to make the lessons fun and not tedious as this experience sets the way the student will look at the instrument for the rest of their lives: boring classes = boring instrument.
These tools are good for adults too. I won’t use childish games, of course; but the ability to keep the lesson fluent and entertaining is one of my priorities.

Lessons can take place at my studio in Acton, or online from your home.
I teach a variety of techniques and styles, songs, music theory, composition and much more.
I can also prepare students for graded exams such as Rockschool or Trinity.
I also teach bass guitar and ukulele
