Innovative Textile Design: Integrating Theory, Practice, and Technology for Creative Expression and Functional Applications in Contemporary
From 11.55 £ /h
This textile course is designed to provide students with a balanced understanding of both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in textile design and production. The theoretical aspect introduces students to the history of textiles, principles of design, fabric structures, and the cultural significance of textile practices. Students will explore key concepts such as color theory, pattern development, and material studies to build a strong academic foundation.
The practical component focuses on hands-on experiences, including techniques such as weaving, dyeing (e.g., tie-dye and batik), printing, and surface decoration. Students will experiment with various tools and materials to develop creativity, craftsmanship, and problem-solving skills.
Technology will be integrated into the course through digital design tools, online learning platforms, and multimedia resources. Students will learn to use design software for pattern creation, research textile trends online, and document their work digitally for presentation and portfolio development.
By the end of the course, students are expected to gain a comprehensive understanding of textile concepts, demonstrate proficiency in practical techniques, and effectively incorporate technology into their creative process. They will develop critical thinking, innovation, and the ability to produce functional and aesthetically appealing textile works suitable for both academic and professional contexts.
