Through my field of experience as an intern in a public school and an English teacher at a private school which is home to a variety of cultures such as Lebanese, Palestinian, Syrian and Brazilian, I have learned the importance of cultural awareness and diversity in our daily lessons. My life experience abroad has been an incredible tool in my teaching experience. I have lived in three different countries (United Sates of America, Lebanon, Brazil) and I have had the pleasure of living and interacting with a variety of different cultures such as Turkish, Mexican, Pakistanis among many others. My experience has truly inspired me to become a leader in the classroom and outside as well. I am always eager to learn and experience new things because I am a firm believer in growing. Also, I truly believe in effective teamwork to better our school systems for our students. One can find me late after school hours working in my classroom, or volunteering to help the school administrator on administrative tasks. Having been a teacher for 13 years, I have learned so much not only about teaching our students, but also the importance of creating a healthy mindset where students are encouraged to take an active part in their learning and develop deeper learning skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making.
