The functional French course aims at exposing students to principles and practice of good oral and written communication in French. Emphasis will be placed on correct pronunciation, intonation and stress required in everyday conversation as well as in the formal settings. Topics to be treated include greetings, introducing oneself and others, describing family relations and friends, making request, expressing regret, telephone conversation, etc. Varied Teaching and Learning Materials such as printed and recorded audio and video documents will be used to encourage and guide learners in building up their listening and speaking skills in French.

OBJECTIVES
The courses have been designed and are taught in a way to enable business learners to:
1. Acquire basic communicative skills in French, namely, understanding French, speaking simple French, reading French and writing simple French.

2. Use both oral and written French effectively in everyday language situations related to their specific areas of study and specialization as young professionals on the job market.

3. Appreciate the cultural, social, economic, scientific, educational and administrative realities of Francophone world.

4. Understand business documents and express themselves using French for business.

5. Communicate orally in everyday life situation related to business and administration services.

About Me

Je m'appelle Ferdinand, je suis un jeune diplômé de l'Université de l'Éducation, Winneba, où j'ai suivi un programme de quatre ans et obtenu une licence en éducation française avec anglais. J'ai terminé avec une mention très bien (Upper Division).
J'ai fait un stage à l'Université de l'Education de Winneba où j'ai assisté un professeur principal dans l'enseignement du FOS (français sur objectif spécifique) à l'école de commerce de Winneba. J'assiste actuellement à l'enseignement du Français Langue Etrangère (FLE) et du Français sur objectif spécifique (FOS) au département de français et de commerce. J'ai également obtenu des expériences de terrain en voyageant dans des pays francophones tels que la Côte d'Ivoire (Université de Cocody) en 2014 (non certifié), et le Togo (Université de Lomé) en 2016 (certifié) et récemment au Bénin (Université d'Abomey-Calavi) en 2021 (certifié).
