Γεια σας, είμαι η Λίζα! Hello, I’m Liza. I'm a Greek native speaker. I'm a Greek language teacher holding a PhD in Linguistics as well a certification in Teaching Greek as a second/foreign language.

I do believe that studying a new language offers access to a new culture and a new way of seeing life. Because learning a new language is not only about grammar and vocabulary. It's mainly about culture and communication.

I have a 24 years’ experience teaching Modern and Ancient Greek Language and Literature in upper secondary education. I also have 20 years of experience in teaching Greek as a foreign in person and on-line.
As a linguist and an experienced teacher, I customize my lesson to students' needs, objectives and way of learning. My teaching method is mainly communicative, but mixed with the advantages of the traditional approach, as well as with the project-based teaching methodology and the use of digitals apps and tools.

The type of course I teach aims at clarifying the difficulties related to the comprehension and production of philosophical texts. "How should I approach this philosophical problem or text? "In what philosophical and historical context does this issue/problem fit?" "Which texts should I read?" "How should I read them?""How should I organise the information to communicate philosophical ideas?" are some of the questions I can help you solve. I specialise in Wittgenstein later philosophy and in Ordinary Language Philosophy.

It is true that the philosopher is the friend of wisdom, but above all, he is someone who does not want to make mistakes in reasoning. Philosophizing is a way of reasoning and a way of solving problems that will never have a perfect and definitive solution. Knowing the distance between the Earth and the Moon is not a problem of philosophy, because it is enough to measure to solve it. On the other hand, knowing, for example, what justice is, is a problem of philosophy. A meter will not be able to help us know the answer. We must go about it differently, and in the courses I offer, I will teach you how.

The basic principle of the courses I offer is dialectics, like Plato's dialogues: reflecting together, making theoretical contributions, asking questions and seeking answers, and testing the validity of reasoning.

For the past 10 years, I have been teaching German using the philosophy methodology, having studied philosophy at the Master's level at Aix-Marseille University. It turns out that the analytical mind is very useful even outside the confines of philosophy. Today, there are even fields of activity such as management with philosophy or philotherapy. In recent years, some German students have asked me to also teach them philosophy courses, and that is why I decided to offer philosophy courses directly.

What if human culture is not exclusively human?
Zooanthropology, or On Becoming Cultural with Non-human Animals is an introductory 10-lesson course exploring the relationship between humans and other animals and asking a fundamental question: how much of what we call “culture” has actually emerged through our relationships with other species?
The course offers a different perspective. Rather than considering culture an exclusively human achievement, zooanthropology understands it as something that has emerged through relationships, encounters and exchanges between species. Other animals are not simply objects of human knowledge or resources for human development: they are subjects who have influenced, shaped and transformed us.
This perspective invites us to reconsider our own position in the world and to question some deeply rooted assumptions about the supposed boundary between humans and other animals. It also encourages us to decentre our perspective and to become more attentive to forms of intelligence, communication, emotion, learning and relationship that do not seem to resemble our own.
The course is transdisciplinary, drawing on anthropology, philosophy, ethology and other fields. Along the way, you will encounter concepts such as intersubjectivity, epiphany, hybridisation and epimelesis, among many others. But don't be intimidated by the terminology! No previous knowledge of anthropology, philosophy, ethology or zooanthropology is required. What the course does require is curiosity, an interest in human–nonhuman animal relations, and a willingness to question some familiar ideas and look at the world from a less anthropocentric perspective.
