🎓 Graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.

🎷 My courses mix practical aspects and theoretical notions, according to the interests of the student, to whom I adapt to offer them a course which really provides them with the elements which will allow them to quickly flourish in the musical field.

👨‍🏫 With 10 years of experience teaching in non-profit organizations and in music academies, I am used to training students of all ages, from beginners to advanced.

🕺I am open to a wide range of musical styles, both current and old: baroque, classical, jazz, pop, rock,...

🎶 I have a master's degree in Saxophone, in a classical and contemporary repertoire and I am currently specializing in improvised music (jazz pop rock).
Some parentheses are possible on electronic styles (D&B, Dubstep, Lofi, House,..)

✅ My final goal is to allow the student to express their ideas in music, and for them to evolve and flourish in what they truly like.

🐣 I take beginners without any knowledge of music theory.

I am available in:
* Brussels region.
* Online, via webcam lessons

Are you a beginner?? No worries: no experience is required! 😁
I can teach you the basics to produce sounds with your saxophone: position of the embouchure (teeth, tongue, lips and vocal cords' position, an element often forgotten), fingerings, use of diafragma,...
After the first two lessons spent on the mouthpiece and neck for the sound production, we will immediately start to play some super easy duos together to practice your capacity of listening, pay attention to the other, ear training as well. I normally use the book of Peter Wastall (titled Learn as you play) as support, but it is not mandatory. There are plenty of good books btw!

Are you an intermediate / advanced student?? I am sure you can still improve in all the basics, but on a different level. I'll teach you the importance of the "voicing" (technique named by the american saxophonist and pedagogue Donald Sinta) to improve your sound production and projection as well as the capacity of correcting and improving the intonation. You can learn all about phrasing and music interpretation, from tonal music until contemporary atonal compositions. And still, you can improve your playing together, practicing in duo on different aspects like tuning, balance, interpretation, performance etc.

Book a lesson and try! If you are not happy, give me a feedback and go on. If you are happy, I will be happy to help you becoming a good musician!

As a clarinetist, teacher, and motivator, I offer lessons to adult students who have played the clarinet in the past, then neglected it, and now wish to pick it up again. I've prepared a refresher course, focusing on clarinet playing, rhythm, and ear training. Everything you need to get back into the swing of things!
My classes are held online :).
It was a pleasure, Sophie

Kind and passionate, I adapt to all student profiles so that each technical and musical aspect can progress together. Psychological and physical well-being are two very important elements that we must work on together. I can make myself available for short periods to prepare for entrance exams to higher education institutions. Beginner students are welcome! Learning a musical instrument, whether professional or amateur, should remain a pleasure, which is why building self-confidence is an integral part of my lessons. Confidence is essential for success in competitions. (Fees are adjustable depending on the student's financial situation and motivation.)

Whether you are picking up the clarinet for the first time, looking to improve your playing, or preparing for an audition or performance, the lessons will be tailored to your individual level and goals.

We can work on sound production, breathing, embouchure, articulation, finger technique, intonation, musical phrasing, and repertoire. For more advanced students, lessons can also focus on orchestral excerpts, audition preparation, solo repertoire, and developing greater confidence and consistency in performance.

I believe that good technique should help you play more naturally and expressively, rather than make playing feel complicated. I therefore pay close attention to finding efficient and comfortable solutions for each student, while encouraging them to develop their own sound and musical ideas.

Students of all levels are welcome, from beginners to advanced players. Lessons are adapted to each student’s needs, pace, and musical interests.

My lessons combine practical playing with music theory, so students not only improve technically but also develop a deeper understanding of music. Depending on the students' goals, the lessons can also include rhythm training, ear training, and improvisation.

I also enjoy working with students who are interested in the creative side of music, including composition, songwriting, and arrangement.

I believe that learning music should be fun, and I adapt my lessons to the wishes and needs of the students.

Lessons are available for children and adults, from absolute beginners to advanced students.

Every lesson starts from your goals. I build a targeted plan for each student, choosing the right material and practice techniques for where you are now and where you want to go.

Lessons cover jazz improvisation, jazz theory, sound and technique, repertoire, and audition preparation. I break difficult concepts into clear steps without losing sight of the big picture: saying something meaningful in a solo, in a way that keeps listeners engaged.

About me: I'm a professional saxophonist now based in the Netherlands, with over a decade of teaching and performing and an M.A. in Music with an emphasis in Jazz Studies. In Denver, Colorado I ran my own lesson studio, including jazz combos and saxophone ensembles. My past students have won soloist awards, earned top chairs at all-state jazz and classical festivals, and gone on to study music at respected universities.

Lessons are live over video for intermediate and advanced players of tenor, alto, soprano and baritone saxophone. I also teach clarinet and flute.
