AlexDrums & Rhythm Lessons - in a͓̽m͓̽s͓̽t͓̽e͓̽r͓̽d͓̽a͓̽m͓̽
My approach to teaching drums is focused on developing a strong understanding of rhythm in general and applying it on the drum set.
I will customise my teaching approach to your needs, depending on the level of your playing and your musical desires.
I'll give my best in each lesson to guide you step-by-step into becoming a better musician/drummer.
You can learn about:
- Macro & micro timing
- Drum sounds for different genres/applications
- Controlling dynamics between different limbs
- Rhythm singing (konnakol)
- Reading complex musical notations
- Composing mathematically harmonious/inharmonious rhythms
And much more...
Starting from beginner, up to experienced drummers.
I'm also giving rhythm lessons to non-drummers, just to anyone interested in getting to know more about the rhythmical concepts of South India - the most advanced rhythmic system on planet Earth!
NoamDrums for beginners, intermediate and advanced students
I have been teaching drums for the past 12 years to many students in different ages and levels, from beginners to advanced students. I believe learning an instrument should be fun and rewarding. Through learning an instrument you learn a lot about life, discipline and develop the ability to listen with great focus.
In our lessons we will learn drums through playing. We will also combine focusing on technique, reading and more specific subjects, but the main goal is to play the instrument and to have fun!
RoopeDrum lessons, learn how to play the drums, music theory etc.
I can offer you private drum lessons, that are tailored completely by your own interests, or I can advice you what would be efficient for you to improve, depending on where you stand with your experience and skills. We can together discuss about setting a goal, and start working your way towards it.
You don't have to have previous experience in playing the drums. You can be an absolute beginner, intermediate, or more advanced student. I also teach all ages.
Some things that we can go through in lessons:
-Overall knowledge over the history of the drums
-Tuning & setting up the drums
-Posture & technique
-Groove & timing. Playing with a metronome
-Sound & dynamics
-Different styles (jazz, soul, funk, hiphop, latin, pop/rock etc.)
-Rudimental playing (classical etudes to improve your technique)
-Reading, writing & transcribing drum notes/fills/solos etc.
Everything is possible! :)
You just need to show up, grab a pair of sticks with you, and we can see what interests you and we may go further.

AlecDrum Teacher available for technical and motivational lessons online
If you want to know not just about drum techniques and playing, but also about its history and musicianship, you'll definitely have a unique experience with my lessons.
I believe drumming is not just about playing and knowing your chops, but also about being able to listen to others in the band and make sure you "be" part of the music, without resorting to thrashing around and proving to others what kind of noise you can make. Hence the phrase "A band should be as good as its drummer". :)
Drumming is undoubtedly a way of building up your self-confidence, in order to establish your identity. The drums are a great use to channel your emotions, so long as you don't have to pull a Keith Moon. ;)
I can also add keyboards to the mix.... But why is it relevant for a drummer, you may ask? Well, although it may look the contrary from the outside, having an ear for other instruments and chords is absolutely essential, because both your drumming nd ability to improvise contributes to the atmosphere of each song.
If you want to know more, do please get in touch. I look forward to rocking out with you! :)

The benefits of learning an instrument are huge. It boosts your memory, abstract reasoning skills, creativity, confidence, patience and relieves stress. Most importantly it is fun. I teach the drum kit, piano, theory, composition and transcription. I love sharing my passion with my students, supporting and empowering them to become the best they can be.
